    Repairing Latex seals

I had a friend that used duct tape on his during a live aboard trip. It worked for a few days until he could get it replaced. I carry a spare set of wrist seals and a neck seal along with the glue and tools to replace them for long trips. It's not that hard to do.

    Argon

I've never noticed a difference so I don't use it. Plus, I don't want drag another bottle around just to fill my drysuit and I don't want to pay for Argon fills.

Creative ways to get non-diving spouse to let you get out and Dive

I just kept going with or without "permission". I didn't do it all the time. Finally she started to like not having me around all the time and started to plan her own personal stuff with her friends. Now we don't have a problem. It took a while but I didn't let up.

    Frustrated with Drysuit Repair

Call OS Systems and order a pint of the glue they use. I think it's called PB300.

    Fit question

As long as it's not too baggy I wouldn't worry about it. As for weight, I weigh about the same as you and I wear a 3mm shorty in Hawaii and I wear about 14 pounds max. With 24 I'd sink like a rock! With a full suit I'd add maybe 2 pounds and try with 14 or 16 tops.

    Probably a silly question, but...

Heck ya! You did them, the were legitimate dives and it's your log book.

    Wetsuit hood question

A hood should be snug but not so tight that it's uncomfortable. A gap will let water in and won't really allow the hood to do it's job.

    first regulator

They are good regulator. You won't be disappointed. Apeks are very good as well. I know several people with the Legend and I don't know of anyone that is disappointed with them.

    Trying to understand

Going from warm water to cold water is almost like a different sport. It takes some getting used to. Going from 80 degree water to cold water wearing a 7mm suit or a drysuit and the additional weight and limited vis can be a big adjustment.

Questions for Gilboa Regulars who are car buffs.

One of them is a 67-72 Chevy or GMC. I can't remember which but it is that era.

Gear Servicing - How Regular Really?

I personally stick with the manufacturers recommended service interval. I don't see any point in pushing my luck. I've worked on many regs that looked good as new after not being serviced for a long time and I've seen some that are only a year old that looked like crap. A lot of it has to do...

    Handing Down my SP MK20/D400

I love my Atomic B1/T2 for what it's worth.

    Frustrated with Drysuit Repair

Check with the manufacturer to see what type of glue they suggest. What is your suit made of? Is it a tri-lam suit? I use glue that is sold by OS Systems and it works very well on bi-lam and tri-lam suits.

    Shell drysuit without undergarments?

I wore the thermals or polypro in 65 or 70 degree water. Normally I dive in 45-50 degree water with full body fleece undergarmets.

    Stick With The Winners

I would not hesitate to dive with Mares, Oceanic, Scuba Pro, Apeks, Aqual Lung/USD, Atomic, Zeagle or any other major manufacturers gear. My Atomic has never been recalled by the government and it's a fairly new brand. Does that mean I'm going to live or not:)

Top Brands...are they REALLY that big a difference?

I don't think there is a huge difference. The biggest factor for me is features. I want a balanced reg, I was a user adjustable cracking pressure adjustment, I want it to be light weight and reliable. Atomic fit the bill for me but I have used regs from every major manufacturer and found them...

    Drysuit question

When you get the suit check the seals carefully for condition and fit. You may need to replace them but any shop that does drysuit repairs can do that for you. I don't know anything about that particular brand but if it keeps you dry you got a very good deal. Replacing boots and zippers can...

    Shell drysuit without undergarments?

I did some diving in warmer water with my drysuit and I wore just very thin polypro underwear, the kind you wear under ski clothes and it worked well. Regular old thermal underwear would work well also.

    info on Cressi equipment

My biggest concern would be getting it serviced. There are not many Cressi dealers in my area. Otherwise, Cressi has been making gear for years and I'm sure it will serve you well.

I doubt it would be a problem.
