    Monkey Diving - DIR ?

Hello Tobin, The apparatus described by you sounds like a convoluted re-invention of a side mount rig, not monkey diving as promoted by Dive X-tras. How intelligent is it to suggest it's safe to send divers into the water with an 8lb. lift BC? Have you carefully thought about the product...

    Monkey Diving - DIR ?

:mfight: :mfight: :mfight: Warning!:mfight: :mfight: :mfight: Monkey divers may look cute, cuddly and adorable, but be warned, they are dangerous animals. If you see a monkey diver, don’t pet it, don’t feed it and don’t try to pick it up. They have been known to bite other...

    Deco without C-card

You really need the C- card. When you show up on a recreational charter with doubles and deco bottles your going to raise curiosity and suspicion, so it's likely you will be carded, that's if they let you do mandatory deco dives, which they won't for the most part. Also, if a diver has the...

The Pasley "Hurry Home" January '07 Dive Report Thread

Hi Tyler, The following is not ment to offend; why choose 15/55 for this depth? It seems like your ppo2 is a bit high, I was taught to plan on a 1.2 ppo2 with 1.4 as a maximum, that would be an MOD of 274' with 15/55. At 292' on 15/55, are you not pushing your CNS clock too much...

    Trim

I think we may be over looking the possibility that Brandon may in fact be head heavy which in turn causes him to lean back to find a point of balance thus droping his knees. I could not diagnose the problem without a proper weight check and seeing him in the water, but just a thought. I...

    Why are retractors not dir?

If you ever decide you want to carry stage or deco bottles the retractor would not be practical, it would create more problems than it solves. DIR builds upon skills previously learned, when you advance to higher levels in your training you will have to re-learn a basic skill. Hope that helps...

    DIR and SPG

Also,if you keep your spg where it belongs your team can quickly check your remaining gas supply, for turn pressures, "rock bottom", etc., without having to ask you and interupt the flow of the dive. Chris

    Took The plunge

Dean is an excellent instructor, out of the 7 GUE instructors I've learned from I like his teaching style the best. You're gonna get some great training! Also, Brownies Southport is the perfect place to take a GUE course. The boat is literally right behind the shop and the classroom right...

    deco buddy

why couldn't we just surface together without stops, elevate our feet breathe a little 100%. Then we just double the deco on the second dive?:D This makes about as much sense as some of the posts in this thread!:06:

    Adjustable wrench for underwater use

My dive buddy carries a really nice stainless steel adjustable wrench, It's called a "Sea Spanner". It does not rust in salt water, it has a hole to tie on a bolt snap, and a bottle opener. However its a bit expensive. Chris

in guage mode the computer acts like just that, a set of guages. It will display depth ,dive time, and max depth or temperature also will give you avg depth. It will display no info concerning deco limits or no deco limits therefore you can not be locked out for violating the computers set of...
