Do advertisers get to write their own rules?

I agree with Bob on this issue. It's funny how certain threads and posts about manufacturers just disappear. I've also had the exact same problem with putting an advertiser on ignore, although a remedy was applied a few days after I asked one of the mods about it...all's good now...

    horizontal ascents

Hi Brian, I'm not saying you're wrong, and it seems logical, just curious as to why you believe its the main reason. Could you direct me to a scientific study on the subject? Thanks, Chris

    horizontal ascents

Not sure how much easier it is, but, I was told one reason we ascend horizontaly is to be able respond quickly to a buddy in need, toxing diver, OOG, etc., as opposed to a slower response, due to being verticle. One would first need to acquire a horizontal swimming position before being able...

    Double tanks.

Tevis, you should be able reach your isolator with either hand. A standard valve drill teaches moving from right post, to isolator, to left post. Assume a senario where you experience a failure on your left post/manifold, and after shutting down the left post, you need to isolate. You should...

L.A.: Pool access for doubles practice?

I'd be happy to give a few pointers. If you decide to come to Cypress, arrive a few hours early and we'll discuss the 9 possibe failures, then walk you through the valve drill on land a few times, and finally take it to the pool. Chris

Anyone interested in a blending class?

Hey guys, in case you aren't aware... GUE Tech 1 teaches gas blending for our standard mixes, EAN 50, 32%, 30/30, 21/35, 18/45 etc., its really very simple. For O2 cleaning and handling, I'd recommend the Oxyhacker manual. Chris Edit: Oops.. sorry guys, I thought I was posting in the SoCal...

    Spotting for a valve drill

I see no advantage to this method. Also, Lynne, you should pop in your back-up reg right after the primary hose has been deployed. Don't wait until the OOG diver is breathing off your primary. Chris

Yea Jim, its a funny thing how you can't put these duplicitous fools on ignore. Back to my cave, Chris

"...we'll laugh at you and you'll look like a dork." - the Split

8000+ posts on the internet, does not a diver make. Does the word "wannabe" ring a bell? You might wanna put down the keyboard and work on your skills, or we're all gonna laugh at you, and you'll look like a dork.:D Chris

    Wetsuit pockets

I've seen several of the 5thd-X pockets litterally fall apart. Don't count on your pocket contents being there when you it! Chris Edit: the pockets I'm refering to were X-shorts, I'm not sure they are the same pockets, that are sold individually.

    Post pictures of your necklace

I use 3/16" bungie with a fishermans knot. The only problem I see with your method, is every time you stretch or tug on the bungie, you put undue stress on the the zip tie. It will probably break on you, at the worst time of course. Murphy's Law. Take care, Chris

Hi Lynne, It's just as easy to use average depth in combination with tables written down in your wet notes. But, be careful when playing with avg. depth. Chris
