FYI: 2005 Diver Saftey Day - June 18th @ Madison Aquatic Park (Rock Divers).

Would be really tempted to go to that, but have a nasty ear infection and doubt it will b e completely cleared up by then. Will have to play it by "ear" :eyebrow:

    Loch Low Minn

Dove last weekend and those temps are about right. I was diving dry (my first drysuite dive!) and felt toasty warm, but I could tell by the feel on exposed skin that a 5 ml with a hood and gloves would be required. You could get by with less if you stayed real shallow, but whats the fun in that?

    Dives in Lake Chickamauga

Does anyone dive in Lake Chickamauga near Chattanooga? Any interesting, or semi-intersting dive sites? Vis? My neighbor has a boat and claims he knows where a sunken cabin cruiser is that can be seen from the surface in relatively shallow water? Anyone ever dive on any sunken boats in there?

    A hero amongst us

I've never met Jessi, but having met both of her parents, it does not suprise me that she is naturally helpful and very comfortable in the water. Congratulations to Jessi for such brave and appropriate action, and congratulations to Baitedstrom and Murphdiver for doing such a great job raising...

    New Name

Since I'm recently divorced I guess that means I can take up a new hobby! Maybe I should have bought Dr. Frankenmule from Greg. As expensive as 4 wheelin is, its way cheaper than the ex :eyebrow:

    New Name

Yeah, I'm pretty excited about the diving opportunities. Really there are quarries, caves and caverns in every direction, and the coast is only about 6-7 hours away. My skin is really looking forward to hydration too. I suppose after a couple week stretch of rain though I'll be missing...

How about Bonneville Seabase in Utah? I think that would also qualify. http://www.utahdiving.com/seabase.htm

    New Name

Greg, Congrats on the lifestyle change. I know how a hobby can start to become a real burden. I dropped whitewater kayaking, and haven't regretted it at all. A man can only focus on so many things at once. I'm also making a lifestyle change, I'm leaving the Rocky Mtns and moving to...

Portland Oregon just had some good activity.

What I don't get is they said it was a 60 foot drop, how could she survive that? They also said in the news that she was rescued by a diver.

No, not yet. I've done a little lobstering, but never got the chance to spear. Would love to though.

    New Dixie Diver

Well, its confirmed. I'm officially going to be a Dixie Diver, I've accepted a job near Chattanooga. Will be moving into the area on the weekend of April 9th. I'm moving from Colorado where the only water is in shallow muddy resevoirs, so I'm really excited about the diving opportunities in...

    Rocky Mountain Diving

I too only dive wet at this time. I have a 7 mm semi-dry (better labeled as a semi-wet) and am comfortable down to 50 F, but found 45F to be quite cold. 2005 diving resolution is to have the drysuit. I'll wait for the ice to clear. I'm not that excited to drag my belly in the mud!

    Rocky Mountain Diving

Remember, there is no such thing as a cold dive, just a cold gear selection.

Based on how male dominated this group seems to be, you can bet we accept female members no matter what water they dive in. :eyebrow:

    No Fossiling for Scuba_Dad

Jeez Al, Sorry to hear about the back. Guess that means you won't be coming out to Colorado to bash some bumps on the mogul runs with me this spring huh? Speedy recovery and I hope to be down this summer to dive you and Kathleen. Get well soon. Ted

    Rocky Mountain Diving

Darn tootin'. If you had to be diving in the region to qualify, this board would fizzle pretty quickly. Some of the discussion can and should be about travel deals from the region to scuba meccas, group trips, and of course conning some folks into doing some local mud diving in the local...
