If your looking for a little travel, I'd have to say the wrecks in Aruba are by far the best beginner diver wrecks, relatively shallow, very clear and warm water, and no crazed wreck penetrations to get lured into (don't go in anything other than swimthroughs!!)

I'm heading there with a small group in Novemeber. It will be my first dive there but we do a similar technique diving for antique bottles in the Tennessee river.

Hopefully they will find someone, I went out there a few weeks back and had a really good time. I was looking forward to a few fall dives there as well as they claimed the water stayed reasonably warm until November. Plus, there was stuff to look at unlike Loch Low Minn here in Tennessee.
