Another option (my wife used them for her 3mm) is aquaflite. Welcome to AquaFlite Custom Wetsuits, Skins, and parkas Now, a properly fitting wetsuit will be close to your skin everywhere. If you are not used to this with off the shelf suits it will surprise you when you get your custom.

It doesn't take away from the pluses of a plate, but plenty of people use transpacs and similar which are in essence straps and fabric.

I'd say go custom...it's not that much more than a quality off the shelf wetsuit anyway, and you'll be sooooo much more comfortable. My wife had the opposite issue, anything that fits her hips, is too big for her torso. She wears a custom 3mm, a custom drysuit and a marginally fitting off the...
