    Do you miss it?

and I'd could be retired by now. BUT, I would have missed 1/3 of watching my kids go up. The four years I spent in the Corp. were very good ones, but I spent 6 out of every 18 months aboard a ship in the Mediterranean Sea. It wasn't where I would want to raise a family though. I do miss the...

Life has changed! I appreciate the spirit that you originally started this thread in. Unfortunately, some others are turning it in a negative directions and I'm really having a hard time not responding to them. 9/11 was the second terrorist attack that impacted my life. The first was October...

English language under threat, Wreck Ferrets

Actually, I believe Coke was the first cola patented. It was developed just a couple of blocks from my office, but patented in Atlanta. And Root Beer is made from the Sassafras root. PM me with the Canoe/Beer joke.

English language under threat, Wreck Ferrets

Sue who? It dates back to when Coke was the only Coke. It's part of the regional dialect (so to speak). And a free advertisement each time it's mentioned. Some type of thing with Kleenex. Jarhead

English language under threat, Wreck Ferrets

In the SouthEast US, Coke is also a generic. If someone asks you if "You want a Coke?", the next question is "What kind?". Here it doesn't matter if it's Coke, Pepsi, Dr. Pepper, Sprite, RC, Mountain Dew, ect. They are all referred to as "Coke". Jarhead

If you take the English language. Remove all the words that have a Germanic origin. Then remove all the words that have a Latin origin. What's left? Jarhead

    What ends your dive?

"All the Above" Most common for me is that my (or my buddy's) tank is down to 1000 psi. Although I have ended dives due to nitrogen levels and my buddy's temperature comfort, too Jarhead

AFter several attempts at BP's and Wings...

I knew with the hundreds of projects going on around the globe, some of them had to be GUE. They can't speak for themselves, if no one knows about them. Let people know what GUE divers are doing. There is no link to your site from the the GUE site. Accomplishments earn respect. Arrogance...
