How easy to remove/replace pony valves when traveling?

BS. Go torque your lug nuts with your hand and drive off down the road. 50in-lbs, yeah I'll buy that.

    padi self reliant diver

I guess it was my impression that rebreather pilots were solo by definition - you can't donate your hoses, and any open circuit you take with you is deco gas for you only...(?) Started my online SDI solo academics. Doing the open water when Dutch Springs opens for weekdays....

anyone ever try wearing non-ditchable weight under their dry suit ???

Dude, come on. Noone has said they do this or think its wise. You're fishing for approval. At least make sure your life insurance is up to date.

Negative entry vs Using a downline

Now if you could produce a float that repels boaters and other watercraft idiots - wow that would be a game changer!

First-Time blending of my own Nitrox...Amateur Here...Looking for your Thoughts!!!

Sounds like fun! The compressor is a bit of a downer pressure wise. If its supposed to go up to 3000 psi, you'll be hearing a large hiss even when its on if you have a connection leak. If its designed for low pressure, you have a conundrum - its too low to use for scuba, which I'm sure you...

    Nitrox vs larger tank

Horseshoes and handgrenades. They just need to get closer together in time so the OP can stop fretting over it - exact is not required. Moreover, if they have only a choice between 80s and 100s, nothing else moves them in the right direction easily.

    Nitrox vs larger tank

Ok hang on a sec. I just noticed this in your original post. Seems like you have your solution. You dive the 80s and he dives the 100s. Whats the problem?

Pics of 1st BP/W setup - anything wrong??

Hmmm. Just outta curiousity, what do you hang on a second set of shoulder D rings? I already have a left, right and butt plate rings, then another left ring on the webbing, front crotch ring and two on the shoulders. If we were talking piercings, I'd be a freak. ---------- Post added April...

How easy to remove/replace pony valves when traveling?

..yeah that would be for CGA type valves (a few scuba ones left, but for sure all other gas valves ie O2, N2, H2, Argon etc etc), not the ORB style that we find ubiquitous in scuba/scba these days... Hand tight, maybe a gentle tap with a rubber mallet (emphasis on gentle) is all with ORB.

    To Drysuit or Not

I went for my dry suit cert, but in the end I never bought one. I like diving wet for the most part. If its hot, no reason you cant hang out in the water during the surface interval - mask fins & snorkel...

    Nitrox vs larger tank

Or don't worry about it and just dive. 500psi difference isn't much to split hairs about...and its just good insurance if either of you get in trouble at the end of the dive. That's what buddy diving is all about!

    BP/W pockets

My wife and I dive with X-pants. We like them, but then I'm a cargo pants kinda guy anyway. No different than having pockets put on your suit, just easier. All my safety accessories go in them - PADI sausage and spool, radio, sheers, mirror, whistle, thermos of hot coffee etc. If I dive the...

    Nitrox vs larger tank

Nitrox doesn't extend your bottom time wrt how much you breath. What your SAC rate is is what your SAC rate is - its a volume per-breath thing, not a mixture inside the tank. If you want more time in the water, bigger tanks is the obvious way. Trying to consciously lower your SAC rate, IMHO...

Pics of 1st BP/W setup - anything wrong??

Yeah, that is pretty bad I guess - its a busy household... The tank is in the same position as on my backinflate BC - actually the tank is about 1/2" lower here. But I do note that I do have my stuff a lot higher than most everyone I know, but I have no problem in buoyancy and balance and I...

I knew there had to be a smart-A$$ in the group! haha. Actually I was expecting it sooner, this being SB and all... Thanks for all the input. I didn't know what the bungie loop was for, so thanks Jim for that bit o' info. Taken that thing right off as my inflator has a hose grip on it. As...

Pics of 1st BP/W setup - anything wrong??

All - this is my first run at putting this together. I wore it around the house, and with my 5mil (kids gave me funny looks - what do they know). Seems to fit pretty good as is. Steel100&19pony. I'll also dive a 120&30pony. I need some weight pockets, but only 4lbs w/ my 8/7semidry...
