Print-it-yourself 12-50 zoom gear for Nauticam

AFAIK Nauticam places these holes differently in different models. In the NA-PL3, this is the only one (I checked twice :-)

Print-it-yourself 12-50 zoom gear for Nauticam

I am not sure which picture you are referring to. In the last image you can see the camera behind the gear (the silver line). ---------- Post added December 5th, 2012 at 03:58 PM ---------- If anyone is interested, I uploaded the design here: Olympus m.zuiko 12-50mm zoom gear for Nauticam...

Print-it-yourself 12-50 zoom gear for Nauticam

Hi, I recently purchased a small 3D printer (Up! by PP3DP) and immediately started thinking how it can help improve my camera gear. I designed an printed this gear for the Oly 12-50. It allows to control the zoom. It does not do switch to macro (although I got some suggestions how to do that...

    E-PL5 in Olympus E-PL3 housing

Thanks. My impression (and I am not an expert, so take that with a big grain of salt) is that by modifying the plastic "finger" in the middle of the second image you can get there. I would start with something simple like putting soft plastic on it and closing the housing and seeing where...

    E-PL5 in Olympus E-PL3 housing

Phil, Can you send a picture of the camera in the housing? and also of the inner side of the housing back? I suspect that with a bit of DYI you can modify where the actuator (sp?) presses on the camera. Unlike other parts of the housing that I would not mess with, this seems like something that...

    E-PL5 in Olympus E-PL3 housing

This very interesting news (as an E-PL3 owner). I would be interested to hear what people with nauticam housing experience with the E-PL5? Shame about the video button. I reprogrammed it to do focus in manual mode and it is one of the buttons I use the most...

olympus OMD vs Nikon D90 ? for a new uw photographer

As an owner of a D80 and an E-PL3, in my mind the OMD system (with nauticam housing) is a winner here: Newer system, more options for future lenses, smaller U/W form factor, easier to travel with, extremely good image and AF quality, the nauticam is an amazing housing and cheaper than DSLR...

epl5 fit in the housing of epl3.

Indeed an interesting question. THe new Oly housing for the EPL5 incorporates their new port system. As an owner of an EPL3+NA-PL3 I would be very interested to know if I can upgrade camera without changing housing....

Few pictures with 12-50 in Nauticam 4" dome port

This weekend I had the chance to try the lens in my good ol' dome port. I am using Nauticam NA-EPL3. The zoom gear is a home made one (using parts of the 9-18 zoom gear and few additional pieces). Right now the zoom gear does not allow to switch to macro mode (which I regretted when we found the...

    Port debate: NA-EPL3, 9-18, 12-50, 60, and flexability

Wisnu, Thanks for the photos (very nice!). Clearly the 10bar zoom gear is placed very differently the Oly/Nauticam setup (where the zoom gear control is next to the camera body). I guess this allows much greater flexibility. Nir ---------- Post Merged at 01:59 AM ---------- Previous Post was...

    Port debate: NA-EPL3, 9-18, 12-50, 60, and flexability

Hi all, Will appreciate your insights about what is the best combo to go after. I have an E-PL3, kit lens (14-42mm) and the lenses mentioned above. Currently I also have the NA-EPL3 with the flat port (for 14-42mm) and 4" dome (for 9-18mm), and two wet lens diopters that I am using with the...

Options for travel BP to match Halcyon Eclipse Wing

Shftrdog, thanks! I also like Hollis gear (they came out few years after I got my Halcyon setup). The problem that this would require getting a wing+BP+harness, about $400 (or more). I will save 4lb on the BP and a bit more (1lb?) on the STA. -Nir
