    O-Ring Failure

Look at the opening in a first stage for the high pressure connection its just a pinhole, same with the ends of a high pressure hose itself. This is intentional as you don't need much air to read the pressure. That doesn't mean that you shouldn't get it fixed, but simply that its designed this...

A little Paradise on Saturday? (02/10)

My wife and I are meeting Jean at peacock. We are planning to do some skills work, just got Jets, need to remove my mask a bunch - as we have our cavern class in 2 weeks. We will probably play with Jeans reels a bit so they aren't something completely new to us when when hit the class. So if...

Low Vis & Bad Experience at Florida Spring

Great quote from the NSS Cavern Diving Manual - there are no cavern dives after dark. What that means even with cavern training, diving morrison at night plus the tannic would make this a cave dive, putting it beyond a cavern divers training. Glad you learned a lesson without a high cost. My...

Dive Rite Wing - slow leak and OPV catching.

Look at what? Also when I took it off, what unscrewed was piece the O.P seat seals against. So the seat, spring etc are still captured. Any good way to seperate the two pieces?

Dive Rite Wing - slow leak and OPV catching.

Well I seemed to have fixed the problem if I tighten the valve beyond what I think should be neccesary. Tobin - how is it easy to check? Thanks

Dive Rite Wing - slow leak and OPV catching.

Well I know this was a while back but any outcome to this? On my wife's wing the dump valve has the same trouble. Its very easy to pull the dump valve and have inner portion jam open. It seems like an inherit problem not something broken on the valve.

How do you feel about PADI bashing on this thread??

Someone has to train non-divers to be divers, currently it seems GUE is only willing to take "bad" - in their opinion - divers and make them better divers - again their opinion - I pass no judgement. However if they feel standards are lacking and the existing orgs are producing unsafe divers...

    Workouts and diving

http://www.diversalertnetwork.org/medical/faq/faq.asp?faqid=133 DAN tends to advise against it. While multiple dives over multiple days might not be a cardio workout it is constant physical activity over many days. If you are staying active (3+ dives a day) I would drop the workout until you...

    No Technical Training for Me.

It is? Why? How did they get qualified in the first place? Every bit of "rec" (if you want to call it that) diving I do - I keep an eye on where I want to get to. I want to cave and wreck dive. Am I there yet - nope. But its definately part of the reason I dive a bp/w with a hogarthian setup...

Greater Tampa Area IX started 12/28/06

My wife and I might come but 8am from Jacksonville is a little early for us. We may just rent our own john boat if we decide to go. I have a question though, it seems as everyone just rents pontoon or john boats and then heads out. Do people anchor these boats and leave them completely...

    Buddy Air Balancing?

I haven't done this - after I stopped being an air hog my wife and I are actually pretty close air consumption wise, but I see no harm If both divers have an ammount greater or equal to what they need for a safe ascent for both divers - some might use rock bottom calculations here - whats wrong...

    How crackpot is this?

Well there are a couple of things to take into consideration. When you get into a dry suit you are going to squat down and try to force out as much air as you can. This should causes the bagginess to suck up next to your skin. If its not huge this shouldn't cause much of any issue. Using...

New Balanced Diaphragm First Stages Yoke or DIN - $60 Each

I Need to Go Diving! Jupiter?

My wife and I are up for some spring diving this weekend. I'd like to put our State Park passes to good use, so we will probably pass on Blue Grotto. Whats clear spring? I've been around most of the commerical ops and state parks in High Springs, Williston, and Chiefland.

    Trying to Streamline

weight differences from streamlining? I don't think so. Now it may have to do with the difference in gear between dives - like a negatively bouyant BP versus a Jacket BC. It probably has alot to do with comfort level and knowing how much weight you need versus how much they put on you in OW...
