    Cavern Diving course.

There is no cavern course in GUE, only cave1. So yes you do go from OW (fundies) to Cave (Cave1, a bit more than cavern, a bit less with full cave, but with all the skills). Sent from my couch using tapatalk

What is the life of a "dive bum" like ?

It's a bit 'meh' to be honest. Diving/ working 6 or 7 days week. Long hours. Bad pay. ... but ... You're living the dream! No not really. Most of the diving you do is ow courses and dsd's. Constantly looking after people for pay that even an illegal immigrant would sniff at. The bizarre thing...

Threesomes - yea or nay? And why?

Nay. If you are persons 1 or 3 in the team you're job is easy, watch the guy in front or behind. If you are Number two, then you have to link 1 and 3 which is a PITA. Preference is for a two-person dive team. Although frequently I don't have this option.

Why isn't the Freedom Plate DIR compliant?

Good DM course and shop on Koh Tao?

Why not just do the DM in Townsville? You can dive the the Yongala wreck, probably the best wreck dive in the world, right on her doorstep. She could probably fit the course in around her studies. Why leave the GBR to fly to an island with a rep for bad training and average diving?

Diving the El Bells & Blue Hole (Red Sea)

Who knows? Do it properly and a good mix will you over £100, an ali 80 will run you about £5, you can see why people run the risk. As for the weight belt thing. No idea, that was the story I got told when I lived there. Whatever actually happened the guy never came back from the dive. Sent...

Diving the El Bells & Blue Hole (Red Sea)

A variety of reasons. Some newly minted DM's like to do it as a rite of passage. Through the arch at 55m on a Single Ali 11 (80cuft). Some tech divers don't realise where the arch actually is and go deeper searching for it. Hint: from the walkway head to the left hand side, not the right! One...

It's 1 of 3 units in the UK. Nobody who has ordered one in the UK actually has theirs yet, this is a demo model. That said. I loved it. Easy to use. Very easy to read even on lowest power output. Intuitive. My Vytec will be on Ebay soon enough when I hear that stocks are starting to arrive in...

    Very odd Suunto failure

No it didn't. Suuntos only hold 36 hours of dive time. History will log amount of dives and maximum depth as numbers e.g 536 80m (My Vytec) EDIT: Incidentally my 3rd Suunto. Guess what went wrong with the other 2?:eyebrow:
