I think what I enjoyed about DiveQuest was playing around with the people in the restaurants. When I was there they gave discounts if you paid with AMEX.
Shanghai Manta....well, I liked east coast of Malaysia because it was very easy to get to and everything else was cheap. If I had the cash I'd rather go to Sipadan, Layang Layang, Bali, Palau, the Burma banks, Truk and Maldives. However I did like Lang Tengah because it was not crowded. I was...
Hi, you should try diving Lang Tengah. The island is very close to Redang and has 2 resorts. It's a lot less crowded and I stayed there 4 days. I made 2 dives a day and I think every single dive I made was just with my divemaster. It's possible to dive Lang Tengah from Redang also.
Here in Japan...none.....tipping isn't a custom here.
Undeveloped country....probably less than $5. In some countries $5 more than some people make in day. US and Canada....about 15-20%?
Well, OW divers aren't the only ones that worry me. I saw a divemaster who looked uncomfortable in the water. After we got to the dive site on a boat he discovered that he forgot his fins....... I don't know if you know but you didn't mention it....although the person you went through the AOW...
Let me know if I'm wrong. After I got my OW in Guam, I went diving in Malaysia. My dive master told me that the 60ft isn't a rule, but a recommendation as long as you have someone more experience than you. ie a dive master. I was pretty much told the same thing by my AOW instructor in FLA.
I recommend the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia. Redand and Lang Tengah. Unlike Redang and Perhentians I think Lang Tengah is less crowded. When I went there only 2 resorts existed on the island. The going rate in Redang and Lang Tengah are about $100 US for 3 night lodging with all the meals...
I'm also interested in a diving career. After doing some research I think Pro Dive in Ft Lauderdale, Florida looks the most promising. They have a resort Operations specialist certification. According to them most students get job offers while they're still attending the course. They have job...
Hi,
I'm from Orlando. Dive Quest I thought was so so. Although you see a variety of sea life there is no excitement of surprise. They prett much tell you what's in the tank and don't see anything that everyone else has seen. On the positive side there are a lot of dive shops. For...
I've heard that they've discovered some good dive spots in Koh Chang. It's been a while since I was last there....must have been 8 yrs or so before they had any paved roads....
My favorite diving spot so far is the east coast of peninsular Malaysia (Redang and Lang Tengah). THe diving was great and everything was so cheap. I paid less than $100 for 3 night lodging with 4 buffet meals a day. Every other night there was a BBQ. Rooms had AC and private bathrooms. No hot...
