Instead of whining about how a fisherman LEGALLY caught a shark and kept it, do something else like lobby to restrict unethical and sometimes illegal commercial fishing. The average fisherman is not the problem nor the solution. The simple act of living means that something else must die. If...
I think that training certifications take a quick backseat to experience and attitude. I care nothing about racking up a wallet full of different cards. In many professions there is the saying that someone may have 20 years of experience or conversely 1 year repeated 20 times. In vacation in...
It's a Wenoka EZ-Lock Blackie Collins titanium. The sheath is great, the knife is the perfect size, and it don't rust! I got it to be a scary looking dagger thing to scare off any wearers of double tanks and jet fins. I think it even comes in a blunt point version for those technically...
Go buy one, leave it on bottom of ocean for a week then look at it. It will be untouched by corrosion. Mine is 2 years old and has never been rinsed in freshwater. It looks brand new. All of my stainless knives have some form of corrosion on them.
Ti knives IMO are far superior to SS knives for saltwater use. To hold an edge the stainless alloy must have a certain amount of carbon in it's structure. The carbon is what causes corrosion to form on the knife relatively quickly if not properly rinsed and oiled. Ti does not corrode. I have...
Go to offshorehunter.com for a program to convert the loran #'s to gps. This is supposed to be one of the best out there. Do a search on spearboard.com to see what folks think of it.
That's what I wanted to say. Scores of people watching TV with their ever so tender eyes and sensibilities need to get another hobby. Maybe live in a padded soundproof room cut off from the atrocities of the outside world. Today I saw a man committing mass torture! :11: I was aghast at the...
I just don't share the cute and cuddly shark sentiments with everyone else. If I encounter a shark it is usually in an aggressive, feeding mode. I ain't playin' footsies and petsies and lookie see with them. I got what they want and I'm not giving it up without a fight. Meet up with a 10'...
I'm just wondering how all of you are so certain of the shark's fate. You must have spent a large chunk of change traveling from Kentucky, Texas, NJ, and other places inconvenient to Nova Scotia to see what those guys did with the fish.
Calling, writing, and e-mailing Dacor/Mares has given me nothing but a headache. No response whatsoever. The company sucks and I'll tell everyone I can about it. I bought my Dacor reg. because a Dacor rep. convinced me that It would be something that I'd have for 20+ years as did my father...
Look under the charter section for Capital City Dive Charters. OR, go to scubadivecharters.com. The captain's name is Kamen Miller. He runs a great operation and is a heck of a nice guy. I'd highly recommend him; we had a great time in his boat!
It WILL breathe down to zero. Guage says zero, no air comes out, and when you disconnect first stage from tank, no air comes out. Do I do this intentionally or often? NO. Has it happened? YES.
The real problem with this lies in not having a fishbox big enough to hold that beeotch. I'm quite sure nobody had a knife big enough to fillet that sucker. That's spearfishing on a new level. Does whale taste more like manatee, jewfish, or bald eagle?
I agree on alot of items but regs. ain't one unless we're talking about some dryrotted Sea Hunt gear. My father had a Dacor reg. from the early '70's that was great until it grew legs. How many are still using SP regs. from yesteryear. If the performance is there why trash 'em. Computers are...
