    Capital City Dive Charters

I'm dying to charter a trip on that new boat. Did a remodel job in St. George Island last month and was hoping to get to Carrabelle to see it but couldn't make it. Maybe soon!

    Surgical tubing for regs?

Your pics do not show it well but by deciphering your post you essentially leave the tie around the mouthpiece and then use another zip on top of that and the tubing if I am understanding it right. In that case your method would be ok in my book. What I am referring to is the practice of using...

    Surgical tubing for regs?

What's your real beef? --- Ken No beef besides having a mouthpiece come off my own reg when I went to a bungeed backup. Some mono somehow snagged my secondary and before I could stop moving I was looking at my reg dangling with no mouthpiece. The tie was tight from the beginning...

    Surgical tubing for regs?

Not a fan of those types of reg holders. A significant tug by an obstruction or someone grabbing for the reg could very easily leave the reg without a mouthpiece. A piece of tubing with overlapping ends and 2 zip ties or waxed whipping twine ties will hold the reg very securely but also let it...

    St Lucia info needed

I've been to the Sandals Grande and had a killer time. The diving is just ok at best. Typical resort stuff. Go around the island and eat some of the native food. Definitlely do the 2 tank trips. However, you'll be required to do a single tank trip so they can assess your "diveworthyness."

    Diving in Levi's??

Helldivers and other rig divers in La. wear jeans, flannel shirts, and even polyester disco clothes. I've also known a few commercial divers in the gulf that wore nothing but jeans and flannel shirts.

If you say so. Do you speak from experience?

    Inverted pony hose routing

I try not to dive solo but when spearfishing often find myself alone such as when my buddy and I go diff. directions on a ledge or wreck. The pony is there for strictly emergency use only. A buddy is a great thing to have but not and end in itself. Back to the self sufficiency thing. While...

    Inverted pony hose routing

That points to other more serious problems with those divers and nothing to do with the pony. Those same folks may well jump in with their primary tank turned off as well.

    Inverted pony hose routing

Good post Rich! Good reasons to use a back mounted pony imo. Self sufficiency is critical no matter what the naysayers preach.

Not to start a flame war or anything

You're right. Most vegetarians, however, like to argue about everything else including what I eat. You want to eat vegetables? Good, more meat for me. If one looks in the animal world, isn't it noteworthy that most of the fast, lean animals are carnivorous predators and the herbivores are...

    Sandals Grande St. Lucian

Also, do some local stuff and try some of the food around the island. Don't be afraid to get outside the resort. Also, sometimes the dive boats may go to Halcyon and The Golf Resort to pick up other divers so plan for a slightly longer trip out.

Not to start a flame war or anything

I believe the judging was started by you and plungermartin in this thread. I've never judged you or your preferred method of hunting just your elitist attitude. Your arguments are not based on anything other than the idealistic, utopian views of a 23 year old mind. With paperpushers...

    Sandals Grande St. Lucian

Was there last sept. Don't expect anything advanced. No nitrox, and dives wouldn't require it. It will be rare to have anything other than resort course divers and inexperienced divers on the boat. I pulled my backplate out of my bag and all the staff looked at me as if I was an alien. If...

Not to start a flame war or anything

So you shoot geese with a shotgun as shown in your picture? If you were truly concerned about a fair chase, wouldn't you learn to fly and take them by hand? No more ludicrous of a concept than yours!

    Foolishness

Inexperienced divers on more than one occasion pushing the inflator instead of the dump and rocketing to the surface. Luckily all with no ill effects.

I think you just did. I drink Miller High Life or Pabst Blue Ribbon. Oh, and what is a degernerate? Oh, and "to many" what?

Not to start a flame war or anything

Oh, I get it now, since you cleared it up. What you're saying is: You're the BEST! No one is better than you! You are the best freediver dude or spearfisherman or whatever there is! Everyone damages reefs but you! Well, anyway, I'll be untangling my hoses from the reef or...
