That was my favorite mask for a long time until I got the Oceanic Shadow. The Pano Geo is not the lowest volume mask but it fit my face better than any other. The Shadow however is what I consider the perfect mask for scuba.
The reg. adds more weight though and on back mounted ponys require more weight to balance out. For my type of diving a slung pony is far more hazardous than a back mounted tank.
Sorry, but I understand EXACTLY what your intention is and have understood EXACTLY what the intention was of every other elitist freediver who has posted the same swill. I know all the points of view of spearfishing and am open to them unlike yourself. You freedive, great. More power to you...
Take this argument elsewhere. It does nothing positive for the sport and is extremely tired. Freedivers are the first to proclaim that it is more effective to spearfish on a breathold due to stealth and in the same breath say how scuba is not sporting. What gives. Use your voice to further...
That 20' is why you're having trouble with the gun. Work on getting closer to the fish and on shot placement. Having 2 wraps IMO more than doubles reload time and is a huge hassle. In your area on natural bottom you should give freeshafting a try. Use one band and no line and you'll have a...
Most of the 9/32" spears have two fins in my experience. You can put two bands on one fin with no problem. How many wraps does your gun have? With two wraps you will have more issues with tangling. Cut the line down to one wrap and you'll probably notice a big difference. Two bands should...
Whatever you do make sure you get a gun at least 48" unless you specifically need a super short gun due to low viz etc. Starting out with a short gun only guarantees frustration and the need for replacement in the near future.
You gave an opinion and now you're getting some back on an internet forum. What's the big deal? By posting your emotions publicly you are guaranteed a response and it may not fall in line with your way of thinking.
Things die for human consumption. Even the most diehard vegan will impact...
So the shark was still alive on the dock when it was flopping around and they were trying to kill it? How did they get it up there? Sharks don't live too long on boat rides so maybe it jumped out of the water and onto the dock to attack them and they were defending themselves!?
TheDom, this is the single most sensible post I've seen on SB in a long time and one that needs to be read by alot of folks who can't get past the cute bunny emotional part of death and life.
If you just use standard ss it is going to bend like crazy without being heat treated. Go to spearfishing.cc and look at Ray Odor's polespears. He also has tip extensions exactly like what you're talking about for some ideas.
