    Why do you dive?

I dive because its another thing that gets me away from the everyday world that most people live. Its also another thing that requires my focus, which frees my mind from all the things it is usually bogged down on (work, bills, life in general)... all I am thinking about is what I am doing at...

    SCUBA Diving a sport?

I think you nailed that one.. no pun intended.. LOL :D Heres a thought to ponder... if getting paid to be involved in or play a sport makes you a professional athlete, and sex is a sport, does that make prostitutes (male or female) professional athletes too? :out:

    Questions to ponder

It helps cool our brains from all that thinking...... or at least it does mine..... heh heh

    SCUBA Diving a sport?

I think a sport is anything that you need skills and specialized equipment to perform that you could possibly get hurt or even killed doing. A hobby is something that you might need skills & equipment to do, but would have to be a moron to get hurt doing... like putting a model airplane...

    Dive Buddy Qualifications

Dont worry about it... we where all newbies once too. Just like MikeFerra said, as long as you are holding up your end of the deal and being the best buddy you can, that all anyone can expect. Any diver that whines about getting stuck with a newbie (unless the level of the dive is too great...

    Monarch cable

I'm familiar with the Port Huron area dives, but only in Lake Huron. I havent set a fin in the St. Clair River yet on either side, and I dont plan on doing so without someone with experience tagging along. I would definitely want to start off on the Canadian side as the current by the CSL...

    Gilboa - Labor Day Weekend

I will have to check and see what is going on... if everything looks ok it will be myself and one of my local dive buddies for the weekend.... :out: I'll post back and let you guys know for sure. It would be great to meet some people from the site... or would it? ;)

    Diving with or without bands?

But only because I am not married.... heh heh I have managed to escape it for 32 years so far... Not sure if I would wear it while diving even if I was married. :D

    Tobermory Aug 6th

I did my very first wreck dives last year in Toby... I went with a group from my LDS and they set us up with G&S. The skipper we had on Saturday was really cool as well, but the dives we did on Sunday at the Grotto and NiagaraII where with Capt. Dave... he is a riot. :D

A Non-Diving Related Question (Or Is It?)

Thats the ultimate 'pre-dive', 'surface interval' and 'post dive' (but not all 3 on the same day... well, maybe sometimes  ) snack for me.... hot... cold... 3 days old... I dont care!! :out: So to me pizza and diving are related.... As to the pie vs. pizza thing... who knows...

    do you pee your suit?

Like when the molars are floating and there is no other option.... Of course flushing enough water through a 2 peice 7ml wetsuit makes what you just did pretty obvious to everyone else.... oh well.. nature calls eh? :D Plus... thats what wetsuit shampoo is for....:out:

    Diving And Dating!

Thats a lot closer than Gilboa.... Hopefully it turns out to be about the same quality as Gilboa (not like I can really talk though... Gilboa is the only quarry I have done)...

    Diving And Dating!

I have been to Lake Fenton a couple times, but most of my dives are in Lake Huron around the Port Huron area. My dive buddy lives right in Port Huron so most days we just hop in and do a shore dive just to get in the water and get our scuba fix. But we have done a few local wreck dives in the...

    Monarch cable

But I have to do that dive somtime this season. My dive buddy lives within walking distance of the Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron and we still havent ventured to the Canadian side for a little diving.

    New To The Sport

Welcome to the scubaboard! :D Yep... diving cold water for the first time is going to be quite the experience for ya, but its still a lot of fun. I have yet to dive any warm water locations yet, other than snorkelling, so that will be a treat for me someday. :snorkel:

    Diving And Dating!

If someone (SO/GF/BF) gives (insert your favorite hobby here) an honest try, but just doesnt get into it and is honest about that fact, thats fine. But as long as that person understands that you still plan on pursuing the hobby and he/she doesnt hold that against you. That is where trouble...
