lp inflator hose length for Oxycheq wing?

If this belongs in Hogarthian, Mods feel free to move it... I have a question regarding the length of the lp inflator hose. I have a 22" hose that I'm using on my Oxycheq 45# Sig. Series wing. 22" is the shortest I could find, and worked well with my previous wing, but the corrugated hose...

New aspiring Pacific NW diver here!

Welcome Jason, and congrats on working on your ow cert. Lemme guess...you did your Kauai dives at Koloa Landing? Had a great dive there last winter. You're right, there is some awesome diving to be had all around the Puget Sound. Good luck with your class.

Warm to Cold: Tips for making the transition between dive environments?

I have to agree with the others that Cove 2 would prob be your best bet. It is used by many instructors for classes because of of it's lack of currents and it's gentle slope, but there is still lot's and lot's to see at all depths. Plus, you've got plenty of facilities right there on...

    Tonight's Catch - Sixgill Shark

Spring/summer is typically the best time to see them, but I did see one a couple of weeks ago at 3 Tree North and also one in February. The frequency of sightings do seem to be drastically higher during the spring/summer though. As far as baiting, I know of some divers baiting them...

    Maui Diving

I have used Ed Robinson for about 10 different trips over the last 4 years and have never had less than an awesome experience with them. As others have said, Mike Severns and B & B have great reputations as well, I just can't speak about them from personal experience. Each time we go to...

    El Cheapo II resistor question

Thanks for all the help. I ended up using the potentiometer-trimmer as Scott suggested and it seems to work great...at least at sea level... Thanks again, Brian

    El Cheapo II resistor question

I just got an Oxycheq El Cheapo II kit and after opening it up, noticed that the resistor was missing. Included in the kit is supposed to be a .5 watt 300 ohm resistor. Figuring it was no biggie, resistors are inexpensive, I checked Radio Shack. They have .5 watt resistors in 270 ohm and...

HELP!!! :) Dive Buddy Needed Nov 6th or 7th

I've seen a Red Brotula on a couple of occasions at the dolphins where Olive's den was located. It's usually down towards the bottom half, and usually in between the logs, go slow and look closely. I'm assuming that is what Bob is referring to as there has been a couple of pretty large...

Need Maui Dive Locations and Operator

There is great diving around the Kihei/Wailea area. Sugar Beach is a nice beach, but I doubt the snorkeling is very good there. There are many great shore dive sites within a 10-15 minute drive of where you're staying. This book is a necessity for shore diving on the island. Also, take a...

    Maui: Looking for non-babysitting charter

I should clarify my last post...Ed Robinson will allow you to dive you're own profile in the sense that you can determine your max depth (but they will tell you the dm's will not go past 140') and you ascend when you are ready to ascend (not dictated by someone else's air consumption). I'm...

    Maui: Looking for non-babysitting charter

Speaking from my own experience, Ed Robinson is going to be the closest match to what you're looking for. Their "3 Tank Adventure Dive" is geared towards the experienced diver, often includes a dive on the backwall (conditions permitting obviously), at least 2 of the dm's that I know of dive...

Rumor: deep airplane wreck off Maui: true?

If you find someone please let me know! I know B and B Scuba has trimix if that helps.

Rumor: deep airplane wreck off Maui: true?

You are correct about the depth. It's a PB4Y bomber. Like Al said, getting info on it from any of the ops is next to impossible and they only go there for 'crew dives' occasionally.

Ed Robinson has reasonably priced cottages for rent. It's on the north end of Kihei, by Azeka Plaza.

    Ed Robinsons?

My experience with the office has been fine. On our frist trip to Maui we did one dive with them, loved em and asked if they had 2 openings the next day. They called the office, and didn't have any spots available. They took our number and put us on a waiting list for the next day, as well as...

    Ed Robinsons?

I go to Maui once a year and Ed Robinson's is the only op we use. They are very professional, friendly, and knowledgeable. I'm sure you'll have an incredible dive experience with them.

    Some Wing questions

I use the 45lb Signature Wing for my single tank dives and use the rear pull dump almost exclusively as well. I have noticed that on the few occasions I have used the lpi hose to dump that I had significantly more water in the bladder than the small amount it normally has when just using the...

List of computers by their behavior

I'm not aware of any chart that ranks the computers from most liberal to most conservative, but I know Suunto would be near the top of the conservative side. Oceanic seems to be more on the liberal side. I think pretty much every computer (if not in gauge mode) will give you a no fly warning...
