    Books in SideMount

It is weird what 5 years ago there was very few "SideMount" classes rather just mentorship or the ""do it yourself"" style of learning... Now if someone wants to just learn on there own it is WRONG and they should have "sanctioned" training. I understand that good training has it's price and it...

    Ring Bungees

Loop bungees work best for me by not only keeping the tanks up but also puling them in. I know Rob will post here and he has great info on his site as well as pictures showing what "Loop" bungees are. A loop bungee may be fastened a few different ways but it is one piece bungee that starts and...

    Nomad XT rigging/adjustments feedback appreciated

I understand that and do use loop bungees myself and that is why I said 2 out of the several times I played with putting my tanks out front did one fall out. I wont use the static lines unless I know I will have to unclip one of my tanks but it is nice to know they are for something because they...

    Nomad XT rigging/adjustments feedback appreciated

Perfect answer to a question I never asked. When diving I end up clipping off that line because 2 out of the 15 or so times I ran the tanks out front one slipped out of the bungee and dropped (was playing around). That is the only use I found for that static line since I dont ware my tanks to...

    Wrist or console

I have a a dive computer thats in a console and if I want it on a wrist mount I just pop it out and put it into a wrist boot. For backmount dives I ware it as a console but If I am Sidemounting I go with a wrist mount as my pressure gauges are on 6" hoses. Not all computers are puck stlye that...

    Weight

Well that is a tough question because we dont know how much you need for personal buoyancy if any at all. Is the 5mm new? Hood/gloves? If you dived single mount w/AL80 then I would only add 3Lbs. If you have never dove this gear you have to figure the weight you will need for both tanks (could...

    RX-2 LED in my 700???

Yeah my LED 700 is now the same as it was except for with the 4LED module in it which comes in the RX-2. I cant say it is any brighter but looks cooler I guess. The Led was like $100 but they took good care of me in the service department with the other little things they had to do. All in all...

    Placement/Position of tank valves & 1st stage

Yeah maybe you can get them in thicker I can say I only have seen the skinner one. It never hurts to try something different I say go for it you might like it. You can make the Old school kit for maybe $10 at the most.

    Placement/Position of tank valves & 1st stage

Also I found it best for me to have handles out and 1st stages on the bottom facing in. With them up top it jamed in my armpit. Still got a long way to go but everything feel just right and looks good too ( from what I am told)...

    Placement/Position of tank valves & 1st stage

Well a few reasons. 1) I have a Hollis SMS 100 not a Nomad 2) those style bungees are way to small and weak for steel tanks. They allow the tank to hang much lower then then I would like. The bungee I use is 3/8" thick and holds the tank up very well. 3)the wing is bunged down very well and does...

    BP/W Configurations

+1 for calling Tobin at DSS He is great and will hook you up with what you "NEED" not what you think you want. Plus his stuff is made in house and is some of the best quality I have seen and the price you can not beat. I like my BP/W because the steel BP will never break and my one-piece HOG...

NAUI Instructors does NAUI do SideMount???

I am asking this because it was asked by a student I was working with and I am not sure of the answer. Does NAUI offer SM classes or teach it??? I see places that teach cave say NAUI (student & Instructor) divers must use backmount doubles... This is company wording not NAUI's... I looked on...

    RX-2 LED in my 700???

I sent my LED 700 SL canlight in for service and they had to replace the LED modual and it came back with 4led's rather then the old 3. I notice the RX-2 has 4led pattern, is that what my light is now short of the knob/switch and other features? Does it have the 880Lumin burn?

I do have another question. How long do you have your clips off the tank on the bottom side. Mine come off the the top of the cam strap and wanting to know how long others have theres? Where is a good place to start? My rig is a Hollis SMS 100 and using 2 worthington HP100's. I guess the...
