    Bullied under water

If that were my wife and my brother was doing those things to her and continued beyond her objections... I think I would employ something more proactive - ass whipping anyone? Sometimes that is the only thing that will get a brothers attention, at least my 3 brothers anyway. He would not be...

    Steel vs. Aluminum tanks

Not Really an issue for commercial at all. My at home compressor will do 4500, bank 4500, and I have tank connections for paintball, Yoke, DIN, SCBA

the great 109 to 156 (using the new S-wing) and "lever" issues threads (continued)

I used a round wooden ball (drawer pull). About the size of a ping pong ball. Drill a hole off center by about a third of the diameter. Sand the side opposite the hole flat, being careful not to sand too much. The idea is to get the flat part to stay against the purge button with out bottoming...

    "Scuba Diving Killing Older Divers"

There are worse ways to die. I would rather die at -100 diving or + 9000 skiing than being flat on my back with my feet elevated trying to keep blood in my heart and lungs.

    Tank Valve Leak.....?

I would contact the manufacturer of the valve. If a little ding on the back of the valve can push through like that, then the valve was not machined properly. There is no way the material in that location should be that thin. Show them the pics... They should swap out the valve just to get it...

    Regulator care

My philosophy is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it". I have US divers kits from the seventies all the way up to the latest kits. I use the US divers regulators on stage tanks and or multiple tanks back and side mounted. Always have a spare or 2. Out of all these regs, I guess I have rebuilt 5...

Broken Strap on my Tusa Imprex Pro BCD

A shoe repair shop can do it too. It looks like they would have to open the slit where it once attached and sew in a re-enforcement inside the current cover and then sew the strap to that. It looks like a cheap way to attach a strap, especially since it has to carry the tanks and weight, pretty...

Diver missing on Spiegel Grove - Key Largo Florida

Too many words... most of which are irrelevant. Dive op's boat their rules. Your boat your rules. You can do any thing you feel capable of doing. Experience is gained by doing, not talking. Doing has hazards. Doing has do and don't. Training ether self or procured, helps establish these. In the...

Explanation on what's required for Doubles

Bear in mind that the larger diameter tanks put the L/R valve further apart, so decide on your tank diameter first, then bands, then crossover. The crossover needs to be longer to thread completely into the valves on larger tanks and of course shorter on smaller diameter tanks. If you decide to...

BP/W that you find works best for cave diving?

I seem to have a hard time venting the APEKS BP/W (horseshoe type wing) now and am thinking a donut wing might be best. Are there any advantages or disadvantages to either style of wing. I like my BP/W now except for the venting but know it's not really a good set-up for cave diving. I have...

    Has anybody ever done this?

All the time... One of my favorite places is molasses reef off Key Largo near the tower. There are finger reefs that come together in one spot. I can hang about 10' off the bottom, 20' under the surface and just watch rays, barracuda, and jacks swim by in big schools. The motionless I become...

    Double Tank Manifolds, Bad Idea!

Yes, that's it. With a little ingenuity, one could mount that across the front at the belt. I would opt for a gas switch block before I spent that kind of money.

    Double Tank Manifolds, Bad Idea!

Let's see if this floats your boat... I have been thinking about this for a while. I have 2 Faber mid-pressure (2760 filled to 3000) 85cft. Tanks that I had manifolded. I took them apart and plugged the crossover port and am using them for side-mount. I do like my back gas, no fuss, no muss...

Sidemounting kid with 4 tanks, NO mask and NO fins...

I would and did. My son and daughter were fishing with me since they was 3 and knew enough about how to behave from the boat or bank to be safe. My son was diving to 30' at 8 years old, and was fully skilled to do so. He was writing DOS program at 8 and publishing educational games in Compute...

    NITROX manual in electronic format?

Save yourself some money and spend it on the ship. You are not going to be able to take advantage of NITROX. You will be lucky if you can get one two tank dive at each stop. The ship may not leave without you, but there will be hell to pay if you are late, late. You need to carry all the gear...
