    Custom Masks

Does anyone know of anyplace that will custom make masks molded to fit your face? I mean, like taking a cast of your face and making the skirt fit it perfectly. I don't have much space between my upper lip and my nose so I can't find any masks that don't bruise the hell out of the bottom of my...

Orca Bait "Big Buddy" dive ???

I'd love to do this in the future as well. I have lived here forever and started diving a couple years ago, but I don't dive nearly enough around here. Mainly because I don't really know anyone who dives here. -Eric

    Safety Sausage and Ascents

I can't say for sure whether it is an "acceptable" practice or not but I can say that I have seen DM's from several dive ops use them while at safety stops, or even maybe 5 min before the safety stop, to let their boat know where the group is. Makes sense to me, especially for drift diving.

shore diving, photos, and deco stop

The shore dives I did in Coz were great and the max depth was only 23 feet so the whole thing is basically one 90+ minute safety stop. You do have to be careful and stay close to the bottom since there are lots of boats and you can get too close to the surface without realizing it. I got some...

    Manual adjustment of white balance

It will be different for different camera manufacturers. Most newer cameras have some kind of quick or one touch white balance feature. On my Olympus C-765, I go into the One Touch WB menu, fill the frame with the white slate, and press OK.

This one little addition has really multiplied the fun

I have a Olympus C-765 and Oly housing and I love it. The whole rig is probably around $500-600 and I can clip it to my BC when I don't want to take pictures. It is small enough that it doesn't really get in the way. Takes great pictures too.

Zeagle is the same way for the mostpart. Only maybe their cheapest reg might fall into middle of the pack but the rest are high-end.

    computers and redundancy

I have a hoseless AI computer (Aeris Atmos Elite) and I still dive with a full SPG/Depth/Compass console. I can't think of a good reason why you wouldn't want backups.

Battle of the Back Inflation BCD's

Yeah I agree with this. You really aren't going to find a BC that is good for doubles and singles. You should get a BC, BP/W, or whatever for singles now and then get a new rig for your doubles and tech diving when you get to that point. -Eric
