you have a dive knife... in a wrestle to the death with a great monster of the sea it always helps to have an advantage. I suggest going for the eyes - it's worked the majority of the time (maybe 97 out of 100 ) I have had to defend myself.
While I am definately going to take the dry suit specialty class myself - I don't mind paying for some brain matter - what do you guys think of dry suit gators? Do they work well? What is the downside?
It's not like a large percentage of boat tropical-local captains and mates were not out drinking and/or smoking dope the night before so give me a break.
Personally, and IMHO - before buying a regulator, computer, etc... by the thing that'll make you feel a lot more comfortable - a new and flexible wetsuit. Nothing beats a new suit that fits like a glove and you don't have to struggle in and out of. Then I would get a wrist mounted computer and...
1) Cash
2) A Russian military watch
3) Anchors
4) Lot's and Lot's of old cans
5) A iron boiler from a ship
6) An old knife
That last one was a keeper - I could have sworn it was some kind of old mariners knife, with a carved wooden handle and curved blade. This was like 15 years ago...
Anyone that has asked not to be put on any kind of life support, has already choosen not to live in that state. Obviously, there is some sway here - if I'm out temporarily and things are looking up and there is a good chance of no brain damage then yes, hook me up. If I never recover - let me go...
He's right, I was really surprised at how good the diving was. There were a lot of fish, coral (not like the caribbean but nice), and very very cool wreck dives.
Be sure to get your nitrox cert though!
"Excuse me Mr. Habor Master - i think I saw those many american dollars fall out of your pocket, you better put them back in before they blow away. Have a most wonderful day!"
he is SOOO obviously in need of an exorcism - don't you see how he spins around like that? And that moonwalk thing - it's like he's floating across the stage. He's obviously possessed!
Interestingly, Maryland is either considering or has already passed legislature that allows non-married couples to make decisions such as this. Now - I only heard it on the news last night and - NO - i don't have all the facts but I thought I would chime in with more information.
to lug that thing in the house, my sig-other would lock me out.
Finding old anchors and especially chain is always a bonus if you own a boat. I'll even pull up old line if it's in good shape - you can never have enough dock/anchor line.
but then why "test" the sonar during manuvers? Which stands to question - what's the POINT of the new sonar? Why bother? We know we can hear our enemies boat a long way off.
I remember doing OW and it being 65 and thinking "this is nuts - why are we doing this in 65 degree water?"
Of course - now I know better, but 50 degrees (and lower at 30') is pretty darn cold for new divers.
Do you do dry suits?
after thinking about it for a second... it would be more better to give Terri the injection because it's "more" humane. I am sure someone will chime in to tell me how bad it really is, but for the sake of discussion I understand your point.
