@TrimixToo I think you are right...Im getting such a squeeze from the zip gloves.... forming a seal on their own maybe. I should really post a pic just after the dive. Ill try this when my two tanks are back from hydro... stay tuned folks.
Whomever you use for a charter - tell them exactly where you are w/ diving, super new and haven't developed a pile of bad habits yet. Trust me, they'll appreciate the honesty. It'll be a relaxing dive if you get into a very calm frame of mind the day before and the morning of. Go easy.
No I think the majority of dive shops here are really good. The ones still open are anyway.
The days of pre-2008 economy crunch had, at least here in the Puget Sound region - way, way too many dive shops. It was amazing...shops were in every little hamlet. Lynnwood, Everett, Smokey Point...
This is quite an interesting post. One that's never happened to me- and I really hope it never does.
But in this hypothetical world, heck yes- if a guy is borderline panic / OOA - he can breathe from my primary and Ill go to my necklace backup reg.
I * would * then become their new best...
Hey JackD - they are the DUI blue zip gloves - so there's no wrist seal that the air would need to get past - it's the gloves that seem to vacuum seal to my hand so easily causing the serious squeeze. I should post a pic to illustrate whats happening... it's really odd.
1. Backplate SS Plate from Golem Gear
2. Wing - 35 lb from Golem Gear
3. Harness - one pc webbing, I finally today put on chest d-rings that are bent ( best thing I've done )
4. Primary 1st stage Scubapro MK20
5. Primary 2nd stage Scubapro G250
6. Computer - none
7. SPG - PSI in large numbers...
Today at getting out of the water, I noticed my hands had been squeezed pretty good during the dive. To the point where they were mildly achy. I noticed during the dive I had to stretch out my forearms in front of me to let the suit equalize better and get some air down in my fingers...but...
Hard to say... I really like my HID Light Monkey but it's my first can light so I have scant other data to go from.
Think of a used one maybe ? They are out there :
Light monkey 35 watt HID can light scuba diving
Online searching for gloves is easy- I saw those 720's- but what is crucial for me now is the thickness - I need my dexterity back. Ill be testing out a few. I might just go wild and order the $300 Kubi set.
The orange gloves are thinner than the blue smurfs, so I'd gain some tactile sense...
I think my hand diameter size would be a kubi 90mm ring. Thanks for the different glove options. I really like the idea of getting kitted up, then 'clicking' the gloves in just before I enter the water. The Kubi youtube videos I've watched look pretty slick.
I finally did it- ripped my DUI zip-seal on the left cuff. On the suit side. Underwater Sports in Seattle sent it to DUI in San Diego and of course they require replacing both seals - to the tune of $ 200.00. this piracy is worthy of it's own thread/rant altogether.
But my question put forth...
Is your HP hose the quick disconnect type ?
I have switched mine out ( it had one dive) and is now in my gear bag.
Shoot me a PM if your'e interested in this hose.
I dont know how online sales will ever replace my LDS.
There is no way an online retailer can do a tank fill.
Or hydro. Or inspection. Or regulator overhaul.
Right guys?
I saw the writing on the wall - online retailers grabbing a lot of those dive dollar$ though.
This was about 2002...
