    Ran out of air

To the OP - ok, just slow it down, dude. This is some reckless behavior and you won't be around to post here - or anything else - if you keep that up.

    Scuba masks suck.

If you think scuba masks suck, try diving without a mask. LOL

    Diving watches

I'm kind of a watch geek, so I would recommend a Seiko SKX009 or the 007 as a real dive watch. Automatic movement, rotating bezel, and they look fresh as hell. Casio G-Shock is also a great reccomendation. Would I wear a Submariner diving - no way - you lose one pin on that really expensive...

Closed TekCheck and Nuvair Analyzers That I Don't Know Much About

I think the primary reason a used sensor is hard to sell - is because once the sensor goes out you end up replacing the entire thing. Buying a used sensor is just a gamble.

    YOKE vs DIN

I can imagine when a group of German engineers/divers saw the standard yoke valves for the first time. Buch of guys shaking their heads and thinking : "Well, this merits some small level of interest - but we can do so much better". Then they went and made Deutsch Industrie Norm - and voila -...

    YOKE vs DIN

I think this is true - they don't wanna change. Which to me is very old thinking. I like DIN because I've never lost an o-ring on that reg. I can't count the no of o-rings I've lost on my yoke style tank valves though. It's like they are spring loaded. Hence my decision to change over to DIN.

    47 Meters Down

These movies are now in their own category of Shark Camp...blame lays at the feet of Steven Spielberg...but admittedly I love them all. Its a guilty pleasure. So far removed from reality I just chuckle the whole time. Jaws, The Shallows, 47 Meters, Sharknado, Deep Blue Sea. The list is growing...

    molokini backwall or crater

Having only dove the crater- I'd choose the back wall. It is over 300 foot depth - so how's your buoyancy? Back wall is for more advanced divers. Be aware though - Molokini is really one of the biggest tourist traps on that island. Maybe 2000 tourists a day go out there...

DIR- GUE Why are non-GUE divers so interested in what GUE does?

Couple years ago I was interested in GUE because I had thought it could teach me a few new tricks/ skills that would ultimately make me just that much more comfortable in the water. That's it - in a nutshell - right there. Whatever comfort level you're at - GUE has the potential to make you...

What is happening with NAUI these days?

With the OP asking: Hopefully they sort 'this' out soon. Given the current state of the diving market in general, I wouldn't be surprised if major changes happen soon. What is 'this' ? What happened within NAUI ? And what are they doing - if any - to make changes in the organization? Is...

    Hanging a Drysuit, good idea?

Most of these metal ( brass?) zippers are more robust than you'd think - looking at your pic I'm pretty sure leaving it open while on a hanger didn't do that. I would take a guess that accidentally putting a tank down on the zipper even for a second would be more likely.

How to (politely) advocate for more weight?

Kelemvor beat me too it - but yeah - just get your own weights. And get away from an aluminum tank as fast as possible if you haven't already. Don't even rent aluminum - unless say, you're in the tropics - and that's all they have. And looking at your no of dives - I'll say fear floats - and...

Choosing a Drysuit and Finding the Right Fit

True- a pool session will show you how to get out of say, being inverted, or how to quickly uncouple a stuck inflator valve. And just managing the air in the suit over all. You end up making a chicken wing w/ your left arm to dump air. I used to enjoy those drysuit demo pool sessions - as a...

Wondering where your stuff from overseas is? Shipaggedon!

I work at Fluke Electronics...and I'm over on the service/ repair/ calibration side of things. We have seen China go through multiple lockdowns on and off - for two + years...we are feeling it - lack of inventory of PCB's, capacitors, resistors, etc - has just meant our lead times for repairs...

Choosing a Drysuit and Finding the Right Fit

It kinda has been beaten to death - but yeah - tons of info on this forum about drysuits. You can/ will fall down a rabbit hole of info. Seriously. I always remind divers that if you haven't done a test pool dive on the suit - you absolutely will need to. You're going to be custom...

Rusty painted LP72 tank: worth saving?

I see tanks at every yard sale, so I can't imagine bothering w/ these tanks. You can find identical ones in about 4 minutes online : FB marketplace, Craigslist, OfferUp... Why spend the time/ $/ energy on these ? Seriously - tanks are everywhere.

Do you own an emergency oxygen unit?

Just to throw more chaos in the mix...there is Commercial grade( welding ) O2, Aviation grade O2, and Medical Grade O2. It's the medical grade O2 what any diving kit get their lil green tanks typically filled with. My local gas houses like Praxair save the aviation grade O2 for Boeing - their...

Do you own an emergency oxygen unit?

I bought one from a guy who taught my First Responder class a few years ago for $ 200. I never used it even one time ( a good thing !) and my diving was becoming much less frequent - so - I sold it for $ 250 to a guy who had thought he could use it for his DM classes he was just enrolled in...
