We are a destination dive. You are fortunate to live and dive in the land of the Mudpuppy and Musky. Find one of these and you'll know why I still enjoy diving around the Great Lakes. Throw in the Stink Pots and Snappers and it usually ends up being a dive that rivals the best. Plus we...
Not all dives are planned decompression and a portable recompression chamber is impractical for a rec diver. Maybe commercial divers can get one, but not I. I am assuming it is a last ditch effort to prevent paralysis.
I was going to check 4. Carrying some extra gear. Shut down. I hope I pick the right stuff to leave. Probably won't matter. Person next to me sprayed a sneeze on me and I think I'm infected
Btw, Flying to Brac today and United only allows 3 bags a person when going on to Brac . Apparently Cayman Air limits the number. My fourth bag was not allowed, durn it. Happy holidays
My one destination in the Caribbean, just to the North of Brac, is Cuba. People say it's what Brac was 50 years ago. As a Canadian, it would be the top of my travel destinations in the Caribbean. I'm not certain I am able to travel without some special permit. But Brac has short...
Expect nothing and you won't be disappointed. If you enjoyed Bonaire best stick with what worked.
I have been to both and hard to compare the two. They each offer their own/different types of reef environment . My dive buddy doesn't even dive Caribbean anymore, he goes to the SE...
Stake Bay is awesome. I love Lynn's Reef and Greenhouse just west of Radar and Atlantis, or Sylvia's, Nina's Miniwall in NE bay. All fun dives. When it calm's down, the dive at King's Point Condo(southside) and Public Beach are always epic. Always have success finding Reef Sharks there...
I have had good luck with Brian at Huron Scuba. He does an awesome job. The girl(can't remember her name) that runs the repair and maintenance of equipment does an excellent job.
I think they are organizing a trip to Brac over the Christmas. Take your class now and do the check outs in...
I was diving that week, windy and rough. I guess I was lucky and saw some sharks near public beach and the North wall east of Scott's had a huge Loggerhead staying around, and a gaggle of eagle rays. Also, the Helmet and Queen Conchs were gathering in the sand flats, which in itself is...
We did the doff and don 1976, NAUI. Lee Duhaime was our instructor. Awesome teacher. We always had a buddy assist for the free ascents making sure we blew out on the way up. I remember the instructor telling us a 4 foot change in pressure above 10 feet could cause lung damage. I've...
if it doesn't block vision, why not? I don't use sound for underwater video so the breathing sounds are a non issue. Plus, I think the regulator will act as a shock absorber and keep the shakiness down. Post some video's or send out a few for testing. Unfortunately, I can't use...
