    Recommended technical harnesses and wings

Hi Chase, I am in South Africa and hope my inputs are of use to you. I would only consider Apeks and Halcoyn. Halcyon IMO is the way to go, however it will most likely also be the most costly!! Where are you located and who is your instructor if I may ask? PM me if you want to discuss.

    Dedicated Drysuit inflation ?

IMO drysuit inflation is really only needed for deep trimix dives. I use a 3litre bottle and dont use a redundant hose.

Does waist size matter in a drysuit?

I would not buy a suit if I did not have the opportunity to fit and dive the suit. Remote purchases tend to turn out to be exspensive mistakes. The 3 most important considerations when buying a drysuit is fit, fit and no leaks!

    DUI vs Aqualung Fusion Drysuits

My Fusion is a Whites original, I dive my valve wide open to well below 300ft with no leaks. My dive partner has the new Aqualung and aslo have now issues with the valve wide open.

    Buying Used DPV

Buying used DPV's is risky business, like buying horses :). It's best you know the state and remaining capacity of the battery, this can only be done by stress testing charge/discharge and capacity cycles. As mentioned the batteries are expensive and even thou I don't own a DPV, I would buy new....

Xdeep/Genz Black - screen brightness issue

Not sure I follow you.... xdeep struggled from the beginin with supply, support and quality with this DC going as far back as 2014/15. They might have other stuff that is not to bad, but the DC is crap. Giving something a new name is not magically going fix the problems or lack of support. Many...

Standard #24 cave line vs low-stretch/hi-viz for primary reel

I only use Dacron on my all reels (cave and OW), it is just as strong and durable as 24# nylon and gives me 30-40% more line on any given reel. I have 560ft of Dacron on my Hollis Seeker 400. I never had tension issues, neither any of my cave partners.

    DUI vs Aqualung Fusion Drysuits

I am very happy with my Fusion Bullet. The suit fits great (always) no matter what the weather/ water condition. I have around 300 dive in this suit with no leaks. I replaced wrist and neaks seals onsite with no issues. The neck ring can feel uncomfortable when not in the water and donning is a...

There are better options for a wrist watch than the Teric. As a dive computer it is great!

How early is too early to progress your diving?

Moving to twins based on your dive history IMO is not to early.

    Jamaican fatality - family protests

LP gas, welding gas or the gas you put in your car :)? Would air not be a better option, after all we typically fill cylinders with compressed air. I fully agree with your sentiment about the use of oxygen.

Tech computer: Perdix or Petrel 2?

You like the Petrel, stick with that. It really does not matter which Shearwater computer you choose, you will be happy. Did you look at the Teric?

    Tank valve knob lock?

One of the reasons for a 1/4 closed valve is to reduce possible impact damage, IMO you want some rotational movement to prevent this.

Steel Tank Exterior (can it be redone)

I would say a waste of time. Rather clean and de-rust the area(s) of concern with white vinegar before drying. Then apply clear-coat nail polish to seal the area(s) from the elements.
