Any tips on knotting a 400’ line in 10’ increments?

That's what I've ended up doing. It's super simple!

    Venus moved again

She was in an alcove at about 20ft on the north side of the hole a few weeks ago. Most likely, she fell from there to the bottom. We should come up with a permanent fixture for her. Her base just isn't stable enough to stay upright for very long.

    Manipulating valves

Thanks! :) I've been wearing a 200gram thinsulate and it's been working out pretty good. I have an undergarment that requires more loft, but I haven't used it with this suit yet. I definitely need to work on the eye contact. :)

    Blue Hole March 6th~7th

You should also make it to Vegas for the Virtualization Pro 2010 Summit & Expo. :D I just found out that I'm going last night at around 8PM when our CIO emailed me and said he booked my ticket.

    Blue Hole March 6th~7th

I won't make this weekend. It's my only weekend in town this month, so I figured I might as well take advantage of it. I'll be in Boulder on March 26 - 28 though. :)

    Stocking BH with Fish

Has anybody noticed that the thickest region of algae growth is just above the grate and nowhere else? BTW, the last time I was at BH, the statue had been moved to a ledge at around 20ft on the north wall.

you people are really THIS crazy?!

The unnecessary risk is having all those stages up front and both sides. If an emergency were to occur, there is no way he would have the mobility or the reaction time needed to react appropriately.

Rock Lake - Santa Rosa, NM

I've come to learn that the difference between 55 degree water and 60 degree water is thermal protection for my hands. In 60 degree water, I still have working opposable thumbs. In 55 degree water, my thumbs just don't work, therefore, I wear dry gloves in < 55 degree water. :) Other than...

Rock Lake - Santa Rosa, NM

I honestly have no say on who gets on the property and who doesn't. We're usually out on the third weekend of every month. If you're interested, shoot George a message. :) We usually have a mix of technical and recreational teams diving when we're out.

Rock Lake - Santa Rosa, NM

It's about 5 - 8 degrees cooler than the Blue Hole year round. Right now it's 55 degrees top to bottom, where as the Blue Hole is about 60 degrees top to bottom. In the summer, Rock Lake is large enough that it forms a couple thermoclines. Last summer from the surface to 30ish feet it was about...

Rock Lake and Blue Hole - Jan 23 - 24.

Water temperature was 55 degrees. Air temperature was 35 and the wind was just starting to pick up. After a 96 minute run time we surfaced to 40+ mph straight line winds... We really wanted to get back in the water, where it was warmer. :) usDyHqIIP-s We...

Rock Lake - Santa Rosa, NM

There was some talk about Rock Lake on a recent thread here, so I figured I'd post a video and a couple pictures from my dive there last weekend. usDyHqIIP-s Water temperature was 55 degrees. Air temperature was 35 and the wind was just starting to pick up...

    Drysuit Weight Question

hey RMO - where is ya'll diving this year?

More Rock Lake, Puget Sound, Cozumel (planning on diving the windward side of the island for a week), and maybe NC if I can get it worked out. Then there's also Blue Hole, Perch Lake, and maybe San Solomon Springs. :)

    New Years Dives

Thanks everybody! Jason, I LOVE the 108's. They trim out very well in the water and I felt very comfortable with them right off the bat. However, heaving those things up off the ground to put them in the back of my truck is a pain in the arse! I've figured out that if I don't have my...
