    Blue Hole Oct 23~24th

I'm still on the fence. I haven't gotten my drysuit back from getting the zipper and wrist seals replaced. :( It should be back ANY day, but I haven't had any word yet.

Gas Blending Software... the FREE type

a calculator, pen and paper, or working it out in your head works pretty well too. All three of those options should be readily available. It's really not that hard. I do use mix blender though.

    Dive 399 & 400

Thanks Marc! The total run time ends up being right at 70 minutes by the time you add the ascent from 130 - 90, + deep stops, + 3 minute ascent from 20 after the deco. Currently we aren't counting the 3 minute ascent into the deco schedule until we gain some more experience. In this case we...

    Dive 399 & 400

In the arid landscape near Santa Rosa, New Mexico lies a handful of artisan springs. A couple of the springs lay on public property, such as the Blue Hole and Perch Lake, while others are on private property, like Rock Lake. Blue Hole is a popular open water and advanced open water training...

Wishing you could spend more money on tech?

At least with my local gas supplier, balloon grade is the same thing as industrial grade which is supposed to be 99.9% pure.

Wishing you could spend more money on tech?

It is, and I'm sure it's going to take him several years to recoup the cost of his rebreather. I also agree that the cost of helium shouldn't be the primary reason to switch. I think you could make a better argument just by simplifying logistics in terms of the amount gas you need to take with...

Wishing you could spend more money on tech?

Ain't that the truth! Heh. I'm not complaining. I'll gladly pay what I'm paying locally. Cool. I didn't figure that the return of ownership would be much and if it did, it would take a long time to see the returns. Especially when you're cutting one cost (the gas) and adding others...

Wishing you could spend more money on tech?

While I don't have a home fill station, I have operated our local shops fill station for a few years. I completely understand the work that goes into filling scuba tanks. I have no plans on purchasing a home fill station, as air at my LDS is cheap and I have better things to spend my money on...

Wishing you could spend more money on tech?

The article just goes to show how much we are being raped by the gas suppliers. They are getting it .075 cents per cubic foot from the government. My cost is about .42 cents per cubic foot. Talk about a profit.

BH this past weekend, Aug 14-15th

The couple times that I've been at the BH this summer was when I was working classes. It's been flat out packed every weekend that I've been down. Between the large groups of divers from Colorado Springs and the topside visitors, it's been overly crowded... As in not being able to find a parking...
