    Vehicle recommendation?

Somewhere in the bottom of that pile are 2 K bottles of Helium, 2 K bottles of O2, 2 sets of doubles, and a few more stages.

Tulum, Cenotes Chan Hol and Regina, video

I was my first dive in Chan Hol. We T left, T left. I noticed a lot of side passages that I'd like to check out!

I like the frantic pointing of "OMG, it's a seal!" :)

Tulum, Cenotes Chan Hol and Regina, video

I spent a week in Tulum in early November. Here's a video from a couple dives. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=UeMVhvcHZEY

full/extended trimix course (tdi/iantd), where, who, tips, etc?

I've only been down to 100ft in Blue Abyss. I was basing the 240 foot comment based upon the cave map. I do know that is current exploration in the Blue Abyss and The Pit that has pushed the line in both caves recently. It's my understanding that Blue Abyss is now 100m deep past a no mount...

full/extended trimix course (tdi/iantd), where, who, tips, etc?

The Blue Abyss is 240 feet before the TKM restriction, I believe. But that wouldn't be the best training ground for advanced trimix, as it is a 40 - 60 minute swim just to get to the Blue Abyss, depending on which line you take. Beyond the swim, that would be a lot of logistics to stage the...

CENOTE THE PIT- Amazing video by Facundo Fernandez

Very nice video! The upstream and downstream tunnels are a couple of my favorite dives!

Dive shop San Marcos was robbed last night.

That sucks! I've lived in the area for a few months and have only had a bicycle stolen so far. Knock on wood, that'll be the only thing! If I come across anything, I'll let you know.

    Moving to San Antonio

I'm moved in and mostly settled. Start the new job Monday. My hours will be weird, but I'm looking forward to getting some dives in soon!

    Moving to San Antonio

I am going to miss Santa Rosa actually! Diving at Rock Lake pretty much monthly has been a treat and I have some awesome friends in the NM and CO areas. I'm moving because of a job and I'm looking forward to it. :)

    Moving to San Antonio

Howdy! After many years in the high plains of the Texas Panhandle, I'll be moving to San Antonio in the next few weeks and I'll be looking for dive buddies. :)

    Distribution block question.....

No matter how many times I read it, all I see is that you don't believe in self rescue in technical environments as that's what your words say. I believe what you're really referring to was you don't believe that diving in restrictive areas where your team is slow to respond or unable to...

    Distribution block question.....

Not necessarily. The necklace is tied into the distribution block, thus going to the necklace gives you gas from the same gas source. But again, on a downstream designed second stage, you're generally going to either be out of gas or be in a valve roll off scenario if the second stage stops...

    Distribution block question.....

So, in a gas loss situation (with backmount doubles, deco/stage, or an inflation system) you don't do ANYTHING except let your team mates fix the problem for you? In a maskless situation, you don't attempt to deploy a backup or attempt to signal team mates? In a run away inflator scenario, you...

    Distribution block question.....

Of course, and I've been agreeing all along that I don't think that the z system is the best solution for being in a tiny hole.

    Distribution block question.....

I don't know about your cave class, but in ours, we were required to exit at the same speed or faster that we went in while sharing gas in a zero-vis scenario. If you're taking twice as long, then something is very wrong.

    Distribution block question.....

    Distribution block question.....

Bubbling doesn't automatically mean a failed regulator. You don't automatically swap second stages on manifolded doubles. In manifolded doubles, if you hear bubbling behind your head, your first quick move is to determine which side is bubbling and shut down that side. If you are unable to...
