There are 2 types of S600 seconds... One has a nylon tube and the other has a metal tube. The metal tube should be good to go in near freezing water. The g250 has metal, but can be hard to find, so the G250V is what I have in addition to the S600. Take the cover off, the diaphram out and check...

It will never work since it would have to run many hundreds of gallons of water per minute at 100% efficiency to provide enough Oxygen to breath. Since water is made up of Hydrogen and Oxygen, where would the corresponding nitrogen come from? The air we breath is about 20% Oxygen and 79%...

Turn the valve open all the way against the stop. The valve "back-seats" to seal the stem from leaking. I don't why that 1/4 turn was started in the first place... It is self evident that the valve is open if it is back-stopped and there is pressure in the hoses. Push in the purge after checking...
