    Novae - Dive SST-50 Flashlight 1200LM (100M) + MORE!

Don't confuse that light with the original light that started this thread. While both are 1200 lumens, they are not the same light. The light in the ebay link is only rated to 30M. After talking to Adrian from Novae yesterday, the Photic 1200 should be available in a week to week and a half.

Gear rinse tub sanitation - a study

I remember my first week of diving talking to my buddy who went thru OW with me about the lack of sanitation. Passing regs back and forth doing skills, rinsing the equipment in some water tank. There are some pretty nasty rinse tanks I've seen. If the water looks too nasty...I don't put my...

    Choosing a BP/Wing

If either of you are tall, I suggest getting a long (or extra long respectively) plate from DSS. Having recently changed from a Halcyon (doubles) and HOG (single) to a DSS long plate (I'm 6'4") I gotta tell you, I didn't know diving could be this comfortable...made a huge difference for me...

    Regulators Suitable for Technical/Trimix Diving?

High performance regs on a 6m 100% dedicated bottle? Why bother? I have a cheap scuba pro MK2/R295 for that. Every other stage reg of mine was bought used (all SP). For backgas and travel gas I use HOG regs. 200ft thus far and breathing good.

What brands do you recommend/not recommend?

There is really no company I hate because of their products, more really "their products didn't work for me". Oceanic computers didn't work for me. I use a Shearwater Predator and a Suunto Stinger as a gauge. The Stinger is great as it shows me time in seconds. Prior to using the Shearwater...

    Introduction

It's the things you don't think about that get you and only experience will show you those things. You know how often I see experienced folks jump in the water with their tank valves turned off? Computers left on board. Diving with a strong current, getting tangled up in something...

    Introduction

As a pretty new diver myself I will tell you this... When I first started diving a little over a year ago I thought I was ready for anything. I was taught the basics in OW and thought "how much more complex could this get?". I had decent buoyancy, knew how to deploy my octo, clear my mask...

What primary light for Adv Wreck? Eos? Explorer? Other?

I dive with a Sartek 35W HID. Great light. My second choice was going to be a 21W Light Monkey. For the course you won't really need a lot of light. Decide what kind of switch you want (way to turn it on and off), how long you want the battery to last, what size canister you want, and most...

Novae Products: 12W Dive LED Cree MC-E Dive Light 900 Lumens

I've ordered two of the new ones to try them out a few days ago. Will know more once they get here. I use two Photic 900 as backup lights and they have been absolutely great so far. Had the bezel loosen but not flood on one of it's first dives, tightened it underwater and haven't had a...
