Eagerly awaiting my Atomic Cobalt computer ... and interested in opinions

Atomic thus far has proven itself to be the 3M of the diving world (i.e. everything they make is excellent) so I'm sure you made a wise choice. In playing around with it at an LDS I thought it looked awesome and seemed very intuitive. I think my next comp will be a wrist-mounted one, but if I...

    Scuba Schools of America/Rusty Berry

Here's the difference: take for example the restaurant you mentioned above. The host doesn't say: "Hey, come in here, have a $25 cheeseburger, a $10 beer and a $20 dessert; if you don't feel the meal was worth what you spent we won't charge you a dime!" (only the thing is, the restaurant...

    Can diving affect eczema?

Not only can it affect it, it can CURE it. I had a patch of eczema on the back of my knee for about 10 years. Sometimes it would itch mildly, sometimes it would itch so bad I would scratch it raw. But in some form or another it was there for 10 years. When I started snorkeling I noticed...

I'm glad that every week or so someone posts on this thread so that it stays on the Socal homepage. Hopefully some Socal newbies have been steered-clear of SSA due to this thread and the many responses. @moderators...why don't you sticky this thread; it's got well over 200 responses with not a...

The good news about Sargassum horneri!

Orgassum Hornier may sound appealling since she is an exotic Asian, but go forewarned she's a promiscuous, degenerate slut yearning to drive out the morally-sensible kelp...luckily the water has been cold enough to keep her passions tamed!

    Scuba Schools of America/Rusty Berry

@ Lina77 I remember on a previous post you indicated that you had spoken with Joe from Sport Chalet. He's a super cool guy and definitely someone you should consider if you do end up deciding to re-pursue SCUBA. He legitamately cares about your experience, and he's a totally honest...

How long do you wait to shore dive after a rainfall?

This isn't based on any scientific evidence, just what seems right to me and what I do: Light rain: 1 day Moderate/heavy rain: 2 days Heavy, multi-day raining (like what we've got going on now): 3-4 days

    Finally great diving!

Yeah...I moved here when I was 8 and it's crazy how much this city has changed. No more Cowgirl Topless Bar, no more prostitutes walking along foothill in Fontana...I remember when it was a huge deal that we were gonna get a Target! And I also remember when no one here drove a BMW or a...

    Spare Air - Sorry!

Even at 60ft you probably won't even be able to do a complete safety stop with the Spare Air...spare air will basically get you to the surface and that's about it. Also, if you're in a kelp bed, near boats, etc. you may want to swim to out of the area you're in before surfacing...probably won't...

Any issues with Slingshot bands breaking easy?

@knowone Be honest with me; as you're typing up these posts of yours, you're wearing a straight jacket and pecking at the the keyboard using a pried-open paperclip that's clenched in your teeth?

    Finally great diving!

Oh, yeah...that might've been helpful. I was in Laguna...one dive out near Seal Rock, and one at Heisler park (picture is from Cress St.). But like others have said, the great diving days appear to be over, probably for at least a week.
