Need help with Scubapro Galileo Luna Dive Computer

I have never noticed this. I always take a couple of breaths from the reg and give the BCD a shot of air before I stand up with my gear on. I check my analog guage, turn on the computer and it is already reading my tank pressure so I am able to crosscheck the two readings before getting wet...

Need help with Scubapro Galileo Luna Dive Computer

This is by design. Here is a note from page 15 of the manual: To maximize the life of the battery, the transmitter turns itself off when there is no pressure change for more than 40 seconds. It also turns itself off when the pressure is 14bar/200p or less.

Got vertebral degenerative changes? Your risk for spinal cord DCS may be elevated.+

No argument here about conservative profiles given a possible increase in risk factors. My age alone already has me diving nitrox, using conservative factors in my computers and making longer safety stops on every dive. On first reading, the abstract had me thinking I might have to give up...

Got vertebral degenerative changes? Your risk for spinal cord DCS may be elevated.+

John, I came away with the opposite feeling. They started the study by selecting a group of divers who had experienced DCS hits and compared them to divers of similar age and similar number of dives. They did not look at the type of diving for either group. The divers without problems may or...

First "real" boat dives done today

Chances are the old guy was not worried about the length of the dive. I hope you chatted with him on the ride back to pick up some tips. If you can find an experienced diver to act as a mentor, you will learn a lot faster. I think its great that you are quick to realize that an OW cert is a...

    How old is "too old"?

I suffer from arthritus. Had both hips replaced while in my 50s. I started diving when I was 61. Diving has become my main passion in life. I turn 67 soon and am definitely slowing down. I try not to lug heavy gear around as much as possible and avoid the difficult shore entries. One of...

Got vertebral degenerative changes? Your risk for spinal cord DCS may be elevated.+

I purchased a non printable copy of the full report. Through a little computer magic, I have a readable copy in MS Word format. For those who may be interested, send me an email address via PM and I will share a copy. Having read the report, I have the same misgivings expressed by Boulderjohn...

Got vertebral degenerative changes? Your risk for spinal cord DCS may be elevated.+

Thanks for the reply. I am a DAN member and have searched their site for info, but this is probably too new. After the diagnostics, I will contact them when I can tell them more. I do have the same questions as SteveC about the statistical significance of the findings as they apply to...

Got vertebral degenerative changes? Your risk for spinal cord DCS may be elevated.+

DocVikingo, i just saw my GP yesterday to talk about a new sensation of tingling in my left arm that changed or went away based on the position of my neck. His initial thought is cervical spinal stenosis. I am getting an xray for a first look, then see where it leads. I suffer from...

Help me understand what strobe setup to start out with

You definitely need a focus light for night diving. A focus light will shut down when it detects the flash keeping you from having a hotspot in the photo. When I night dive, my backup light stays in a pocket and I use my focus light to illuminate the reef and subjects. As I understand it, TTL...
