    Dumaguete Atlantis

Yesterday was a good time. Three Flamboyant Cuttlefish having an orgy on one of the dives!

    Dilemma, Malapascua or Moalboal?

Not been to Moalboal so couldn't comment on the chances of seeing a large pelagic there. I've heard threshers have been around but to be honest, not sure what time of year or the frequency. If you want a very good chance of seeing something bigger (and an excellent chance of a thresher, and a...

    Twinsets

Anyone got an idea of the "best (better)" place to get a twinset from locally (anywhere in Phil)? I need 2 AL80s, bands, and isolation manifold. I believe AsiaDivers and AdventureWhiteTip sell them, but not sure on the quality of manifolds from either. From what I can gather AWT sell 'Ocean Dive...

    Wreck Diving Reel

Kent Tooling reels from the UK generally have a very good reputation. Maybe an alternative? Not used one myself but they are spoken of quite highly on the UK forums

10 days in Phils : Malapascua / Bohol

Sounds like a great trip. I would just add that I could more than happily spend the time in one location (Malapascua being my preference) and save the other until the next time. You will have a fantastic time though - say hi to the threshers for me! And tell them I will be there soon..ish ;)

    Japanese Wreck - Siquijor

Thanks buddy. I had found that one already. I was after a bit more substantial info, but I guess a dive or two on it will be the best way to find out :)

Malapascua in end of January 2012

Hammerheads maybe (read hopefully). :) Mantas though were a couple of months later when I was there and stuck around for the best part of 2/3 months (probably May/June/July without scrawling though my "logbook"). Its always a good morning when you get the hammers at Kemod and then head over...

Is Deep Air / Light Deco (bounce?) Discussible on ScubaBoard?

So a dive to 40.5m or a dive which incurs <8mins of deco is a techinical dive? I am not trying to be a PITA here or cause a ruck, I just want to clear up a few bits so I know fully where the distinction lies :)

Is Deep Air / Light Deco (bounce?) Discussible on ScubaBoard?

Does the fact that PSAI teach deep air fall in or out of this category....are they considered a major agency and if not then which agencies are? Surely this is a subjective view point. This also got me thinking...is anyone aware of OTU tables which go beyond 1.6pp02 or articles based on similar...

Is Deep Air / Light Deco (bounce?) Discussible on ScubaBoard?

Seeing as this has completely degenerated from the OPs request of keeping the discussion on topic: Yes probably as tens of thousands of hours of experience from all levels of divers are available. Your argument could be applied to any aspect of diving. I agree that the internet does not even...

    Single Backup Light

Right D-Ring for me. If I need it, and I mean REALLY NEED IT, I don't want to be searching around under an inflator hose to find it and turn it on before I unclip it. On the right it is RIGHT THERE, on and unclipped quicker than I could fumbling around with an inflator. The issue I see with the...

    Japanese Wreck - Siquijor

Has anyone got any info on a Japanese Wreck off the north/north west coast of Siquijor. I believe it is a hospital boat but could be wrong. Whilst we are at it I could also do with some info on the Sunken Island off the west coast too (lolo-a is the closest 'name' I can find for it)...

Help for 14 nights Philippine Trip Moalboal+Malapascua

In the 6 months I was there, we had a few bad journeys back from day trips and the occasional dive called due to conditions not being viable in a boat, but it was certainly very rare and only happened around March. I think over the whole month there were only 4 or 5 dives that didn't go out...

Is Deep Air / Light Deco (bounce?) Discussible on ScubaBoard?

No, due to the number of people who come on and instantly slate anyone who suggests the idea. If anything these threads actively discourage people to do deep air dives. Those who have a genuine active interest in deep air should, in theory, be using the threads to gather information and...

Malapascua in end of January 2012

Agree with what mucksavage and atmosphere have said. Weather is fairly unpredictable. Just get up there and give it a go. I'm sure mucksavage will point you in the right direction but I'm also happy to help if you need it. Happy diving :)
