Yes, always, right thigh pocket, attached with double ender on bungee cord with spare reel and shears in same pocket, clipped off in the same way. I just pull all the bungee out, unclip what i need and restow. That would change if I was in a confined space and worried about entanglement I guess.

I wouldn't want any one other than myself servicing my regs. If I'm breathing from it then I want to know that its done correctly, and frankly I don't trust any one else to provide that service to me. Luckily I can get hold of service kits quite easily and have all the equipment for doing it at...

As far as I am concerned you can service any reg yourself if you know how. Its really not that complicated, but you should have somebody experienced show you what to do first time around. Just my 2c and I'm sure some will consider it wreckless and dangerous to not have them serviced by a LDS ;)

They only way to determine how "similar" Apeks/Hogs would be and how they breathe like for like would be to see the ANSTI results. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would be interested to see the comparison.

Could you please tell me in what way you consider them the same as Apeks? Quite possibly. Have a look at Ocean Dive Supplies (Taiwan)....you will see a lot of familiar regs on there. I'm sure if you are a "manufacturer" ordering from them there is also a certain amount of customisation options...

I very much doubt there are the same, as APEKS produce all of their regs in house in the UK, and I suspect the HOG regs are made by a manupacker. (When I ordered my second stages HOG/Edge were waiting to take delivery of stock ;) which suggests to me they are not made in house). Still very nice...

Sounds like you might want Adv Eanx + Deco Procs? Find a great instructor rather than a "good course"...it will make the difference IMO :)

I can't comment on deployment, but why (or more importantly when) are you mostly likely going to be stowing your SMB? I think its something I usually wait til I'm on the boat for :)

I would say trip Asia Divers or Aquaventure Whitetip Dive Supplies. Wouldn't suprise me if Aquamundo could sort you one out from their Manila shop. I can't say any of those places will definitely sell them, but I imagine one of them should have one going.

Just to add, Malapascua possibly isnt the mostly culturally interesting place in the Philippines and if you aren't diving then there isn't a huge amount to do on the island. Head to the disco on the basketball court and have a few drinks with the local crowd there though, makes for quite a...
