Need advice for raising a half-sunken boat

I once watched a company raise a cabin cruiser that sank in about 10 feet of water in the local marina. with the docks and other boats around they didn't have much room to manuever a crane or use any large lift bags due to the size of the slip it was in so they took a bunch of childrens beach...

I think OMS saw DR's transplate and said wow cool idea, and just copied it. the trans plate came out about the begining of last spring, and OMS started ads for their comfort system at the end of summer. same idea, just a few months later...

My car was broken into right in front of my house. My insurance co (liberty mutual) told me that only items that are part of the car ie sound system or parts were attached to the car were covered by my theft insurance. I thought everything in the car was covered by theft but I was wrong, so if...

    Your ice diving configuration

Each diver gets his own line and own tender. Thats the only way I've ever seen it done when I was ice diving in lake george NY. and there was alot of different clubs and divers there, but everybody was using independant lines and tenders. and for a harness they can be made pretty easy if you...

    Absurd dive equipment

most fire dept are using tanks in the 30 cuft range with some using 45 or 60 cuft. these tanks are filled to 4500psi to achieve these fills. And from personal experience I can tell you these tanks are VERY positive in water, even when full they will float. The newest tanks in the fire service...

    DIY Undergarments??!!

I dive in a plain old short sleeve sweatshirt and sweat pants down to 50... but I also don't swim with my suit shrink wrapped to my body, an extra pound of lead is worth the comfort of a little air space around my core. A 200 polartec jumpsuit with a set of long-jon pants over that and I'm...

    DIY Undergarments??!!

soggy said "Fleece is fleece, but doesn't work too well under a drysuit except as a bottom layer or mixed with thinsulate." I have only ever worn polartec under my suit as alot of other guys I have seen here on the NE atlantic boats. it doesn't compress and if you buy the stretch fleece, it...

    DIY Undergarments??!!

camping stores like "eastern mountain sports" "cabelas" and "REI" sell insulated undergarments with thinsulate or polartec for alot less than dive shops. Thinsulate and polartec are the same regardless of their intended use. Its seems anytime something is made for scuba, the prices are...

    Dive-Rite BP/W Question

if your going deep with a 7mm wetsuit, then ditching 4 or 5 pounds may not be enough if you get into trouble. As the suit compresses at depth you'll be very negative. When you're in a dry suit, its not a big deal if your BC craps out. but if you're wet you don't have a backup bouyancy system...

crpnt133 said "If price is the issue, most LDS will come close to the price" obviously you haven't priced out much equipment from your LDS and the net. most of the large equipment manufacturers have "price fixing" which means a LDS can't compete with the net if they want to continue to sell...

I found when I did any shore dives that the shoulder straps on my BP/W would cut into my shoulders if I had a long walk with heavy tanks, once in the water I was good but the hard nylon straps do hurt sometimes. I went with the transplate straps from DR. they are the same straps that are on a...

    Poseidon Cyklon

I think shipping to the other side of the world might get expensive!!! as for first stages and pressures, Poseidon specs set the IP on cyklons at 170 to 180 psi. this is higher then just about every other reg out there. Its fine if your only using cyklon second stages, but if you have a...
