    Mares ESA Mask

I tried a mares esa and an X-vision before buying a new mask. IMHO I think the X-vision has a better downward view then the esa... for 1/3 the price. try both before you buy one, or if you have a leaking esa, ask your dealer if they can prorate you a new x-vision and some other gear...

    mixing first and second stages

I dive poseidon Cyklon second stages on oceanic first stages. the Cyklons are supposed to work on an IP of 175 psi... this is one of the few second stages that aren't specified to operate in the 130-150 range. but even with my IP set at 150, they breathe great, as good or even better than the...

    Nitrox main tank.....air in pony...?

Now my lds main man....is very anti using the same gear I dive regular air with. He is adamant that I should have all seperate nitrox dedicated gear. And, I really think he feels that way because of safety and his thoughts about nitrox....versus just trying to sell more gear. Unless your...

    Pros/Cons on Delta 3 Titanum????

you won't notice any difference in performance from a properly tuned delta titanium vs brass. The only difference you'll see is titanium can't be used for any high O2 mixes. titanium burnes in a high O2 enviorment and thus no regulator manufacturers recomend using titanium regs for high O2 mixes.

    OMS why all the flames?

OK here we go, I might be starting a house fire but that is not my intention, so no trolls needed. for this thread please disregard the topic of Bungeed wings, BWOD, and DIR vs. non-DIR, these have been beaten to death in other topics and have no relation to this question. So, My question...

Tank buying time: aluminum vs. steel

4000psi IS 5/3 of a working pressure of 2400psi.... the 10% over fill (2640 psi)doesn't count toward a hydro calculation as it is an "overfill" pressure. sorry Lad, both accounts were dead on.... ;-0

Tank buying time: aluminum vs. steel

Fred said the disk needs to blow BELOW the hydro pressure... this is so if the pressure build up from heat, or a dumba$$ overfills by too much it will vent BEFORE it reaches the hydro pressure and stresses the tank. ... read before pulling the trigger my friend... and by USDOT regs, what fred...

    Finders Keepers

some good, some junk. lots of stuff from the wreck off LI NY. Diving with the FD in the local marina while training, we come up with everything from rings and watches to motors... yes an entire 25HP outboard. Some times we will get a call from the dockmaster when, someone he feels bad for...

    Force Fin question

I have used the regular force fins, and I own and dive only the tan deltas (in the original ugly purple color). I find the fin is stiffer but gives more "snap" and has alot more power per kick over the standard FF. FFs website lists the tan deltas very high on their "snap" rating system... I...

Where do the grey market retailers get the gear?

Any large manufacturer has the ability to track all of their serial numbered items. Drew's mom bought his reg at LP and scubapro knew where he got it from... of course they did. you think scuba pro (or any of the big names) can't track every reg made in the last few years to every distributor...
