    Favorite Fish to See?

Only certain species of trunkfishes carry toxins. None of the Atlantic/Caribbean trunkfishes carry any toxins, except for the Smooth Trunkfish. Some Pacific species are very toxic, releasing their toxins into the water when stressed. I doubt that any juvenile trunkfish could do in a large shark...

    Blue Heron Bridge Trolls III

I know Priacanthus arenatus as the Short Bigeye. I caught one a couple of weeks ago here in NJ in Barnegat Inlet. It lives in my aquarium where it will stay until it gets too large, when it will go to a local aquarium. These juveniles are rare. The die when water temps drop off too low, along...

Who would you choose to host a show about diving?

Ru Paul would be an excellent choice.

Blue Crabs - Italy & Mediterranean

They are common far north of Chesapeake, plenty in NY and Long Island. I caught a bushel of them in two hours with one small trap here in New Jersey. One of our premier fisheries.

Best place to live as a retired diver

I go twice each year to visit. Mostly I fish, scuba, avoid political discussions. I've seen Florida change from the 60s, when it was glorious, to its current debased condition. Heartbreaking. Parts of the west coast are a stinking cesspool. So much is gone, everywhere. Paved over. Bulldozed.

MK19 Evo -- Not available in DIN with G260?

Yes, and easily back again. You then have either configuration as circumstances dictate. I bought my MK 19 as yoke, added the DIN kit which I use in the states, convert to yoke when I travel.

    Yoke or DIN?

There are yoke valves, DIN valves, and hybrid valves that are easily convertible to either one. Regulators are either DIN or yoke, but adapters are available to convert.

Converting Mk5 or Mk10 to DIN

At one time SP made a DIN conversion kit specifically for the Mk5. I have one on my Mk5, but I bought it decades ago. They are very rare.

    Dive Logs - History ?

I should have specified 'recreational diving' in the US.

    Dive Logs - History ?

Logs have always been voluntary. I kept a dive log for several years starting in the late 60s, finally stopping in the late 70s. There was a basic formula: date, location, time in and time out, maximum depth, and 'remarks'. I remember that NASDS had a specific log book printed when I was...

Titanic tourist sub goes missing sparking search

Nearly 90% of all German casualties during WW2 were inflicted on the Eastern Front. 9 out every 10 dead Germans were killed by the Soviets.

Titanic tourist sub goes missing sparking search

Is this really true? I thought the wreck was in two separate pieces. Are there really descendants living down there? For real?

    Is south/east Mexico worth diving?

South west Mexico is the Pacific, not the Atlantic. It's colder than the eastern side, with much rougher water in most areas, more suitable for surfing. Big game fishing is also popular there.

    Ft Wetherhill Rhode Island Diving

Seahorses are common inshore here in New Jersey. I've seen as many as a dozen inside Barnegat inlet during a single shallow dive, on dock pilings and in eel grass. Tropicals are common in R.I. as well as here in NJ in late summer, carried up in the Gulf Stream. I've found seahorses as far north...

Has anyone ever been a "victim" of a Remora?

Snorkeling with just a bathing suit I've had Remoras attach themselves to a very sensitive item on my chest. It hurt, and they can be persistent.
