Dive logs and boat diving, have you ever been denied?

I didn't think you contradicted me at all. You are very right is no one should ever plan a trip or dive without training. As far as Logs I love making notes on every dive I log (I don't log most of them) so I can look back and stroll down memory lane. I always tell people NEVER leave the...

Dive logs and boat diving, have you ever been denied?

I have been asked before for my C-card many times but never for a log book. However there have been timea where I was never asked for anything other than payment. I don't see why a log book is worth crap. So easy to fake it if needed.

Dive logs and boat diving, have you ever been denied?

I have only even been asked for my money. Many in the Keys don't even ask for a c card they just want the debit card.

    AOW before Tech?

From my last OW check out dive in Blue Grotto I knew I wanted to do cave. I didn't even know the magnitude of the cave in FL. I just wanted to keep diving places like BG. From OW I continued to dive. I dove springs, lakes, ocean, and every "OW" cavern FL had to offer. I quickly found myself...

    Padi dive centres

Some of the Key Requirements of a 5 Star Dive Center are: That they have been a renewed PADI Dive Center for at least 12 months and have no verified PADI Quality Assurance violations within that period and no open quality assurance inquires in progress. Continue to meet all PADI Dive Center...

Is the PADI Drift Diver specialty recommended ?

Down in Florida we do have pretty big lakes but no it's mainly to let boaters and jet skiers know that there's diver below. Sadly the drunken idiots you find out on the lakes and rivers look at the dive flag as a buoy to do donuts around so you're almost safer for not using one but it's still...

Is the PADI Drift Diver specialty recommended ?

I have never had to tote a flag on a drift dive. Few dozen drift dives and never once was that a thing. Now River and lake dives it was an every dive piece of equipment.

Is the PADI Drift Diver specialty recommended ?

If you are not used to diving in the ocean then maybe but if you understand how the ocean works and you know all the correct gear (reel& dsmb) then you should be fine but it's up to you.

    Drysuit certification really needed?

Sorenson "required" you to take a drysuit class to teach you his sidemount class? Scuba industry is turning everything into a damn cert now a days.

What is the craziest "specialty" you have heard of that you know is actually real?

See and that is a problem with the varying agencies. I got my master diver with NAUI years ago and it has nothing to do with prior C cards or courses taken. It is purely an academic cert. I had to read and understand mathematics, physics, and physiology then take a test on it. It was tough. The...

What is the craziest "specialty" you have heard of that you know is actually real?

I don't think there has ever been any implication that you can get rid of the impairments by diving that depth regularly. Just if you get to truly experience narcosis and you get to learn how to deal with it you are better prepared. One simply cannot pretend to be narked and work to a solution...

What is the craziest "specialty" you have heard of that you know is actually real?

I've never heard of this course but the way you explain it that's downright good. First time I ever got narced I felt it bad. I was at 135 on air. I can see where having training dealing with it would make sense.

What is the craziest "specialty" you have heard of that you know is actually real?

I wonder if there is a record kept to the one or ones that have the most c-cards.

    HOG D1 Parts Following Discontinuation

The brains at HOG left years ago and started Deep 6. It's easy to interchange your 2nd stages but the first like was already mentioned is the same as the Deep 6 DGX first stage. So once you swap your 2nd stage over you can order all your parts right from Deep 6. I have 3 sets of D1/classic that...
