I'm having my valve moved from my bicep to my forearm next week. Can anyone tell me the 'proper' placement of the valve on the forearm? Should it be on the outer part of the forearm?
Good choice with Ed Robinson. He's the only op we call when we schedule a trip to Maui. Though I've heard nothing but good about B & B and Mike Severns too.
Otter,
Nitric Oxide is a gas.
As far as the offgassing, that seems like it would be the case, but I didn't know if there were other factors. I didn't know if it was that simple or if there were other considerations.
Otter-
My concern is that this supplement is taken 2-3 times a day and is supposedly "time released". My understanding is that after the first week or two, the nitric oxide levels in your body are increased significantly and remain relatively constant all day (and night). My concern was the...
I have a question regarding nitric oxide (commercially known as the supplement NO2 and Nitrix, among others). I lift weights and do cardio 5 days a week and recently started taking this supplement to help me with a plateau that I've hit recently.
I've done some reading, and from what I...
I agree with Scottri regarding Ed Robinson's (they are the only boat op we use), but they get booked so far out in advance I doubt they would have anyone available for teaching a course this close. They usually require quite a bit more notice than that.
I have a couple of friends who have put the OS Systems dry gloves on their Apollos. It was a little tricky (I helped install them on of the suits) getting the ring thru the cuff (it can be a tight fit), but it really wasn't any problem at all.
Pilotfish...Drinking any amount of water water will help to 'hydrate' you, but that doesn't mean you'll be hydrated.
If you're dehydrated, you'll be playing 'catch up' to get hydrated and , yes it can take a long time (up to a few days). I have been severely dehydrated and it took 3-4 days...
Good news Jason! My fiance is a very active cold water diver (instructor as well) and it is an awesome activity to share.
You'll be walking a fine line while she's training. You need to be encouraging, while not pushing her either, but so far it looks like you've got the balance right...
Thanks Ron and Bob for putting it together! It was great being able to put some faces with the names, and it was nice seeing some familiar faces as well.
I agree Bob, we need to make this a regular event.
My Oxycheq wing came with a 12" corrugated hose as well and I really like it. Although, the lp hose Patrick sent with it is a little long, IMO.
I ended up buying an 18" lpi hose from Tech Diving Limited and am glad I did.
I don't know what "correct" is, but the 12" works well for me...
I'm not sure about shore diving on Molokai and Lanai, but I used shorediving.com for a trip to Kauai last year. We did Ahukini Landing, Koloa Landing, and Sheraton Caves as shore dives and had a good time. Ahukini was a little disappointing, but had a great dive at Koloa Landing and it is an...
My Northern Diver is the same way. I'm sending it in to have the dump moved to my cuff next month when I'm in Maui. I can't stand having it on the bicep.
Which brings up a question...
My last drysuit had the dump in the 'normal' place (on the outer shoulder, not the bicep) and that...
PD...Thanks. We're heading over on the 17th and getting married on the 27th, I'm actually certifying a couple of family members while we're there so I'm call it a 'working vacation' ;)
MDDC has 3 instructors on staff I believe. One of them is named Rachel, and for the life of me I can't...
