I agree with TSandM....I think we're actually really spoiled with the diving we have here. Countless shorediving sites from Tacoma all the way up to Everett/Mukilteo with some great dive charters as well. The San Juans offer some fantastic diving, and we're only 4 hours from Nanaimo...

We were out on Deep Sea yesterday and saw Rick. I had no idea Rick brought the Sampan up to the San Juans. Had 3 great dives at Strawberry (inside), Cone, and Pelican. Does Rick bring the Sampan up there often?

Gotta agree with Bob on this one. Depends on the instructor AND the lds. If a student isn't ready to go to the open water, they won't go, but they are more than welcome to join the next class (yes, they will have to pay for their spot in the pool) if there are spots open, and we'll do our best...

That's awesome that you were able to do Apartments. My understanding is that conditions have to be very good to be able to dive that site. I really enjoy that dive (only been able to do it twice). Your second 3-tank trip (Shark Condos, Reef's End, and St Anthony's) was the exact same trip...

We fly in Thursday...after reading that the freediver was "probably" dead before the shark(s) got him, my wife started warming back up to diving at 5 Graves. I'm afraid she may be sitting out on the shore dives this trip and will just be diving with Ed Robinson.

Looks like I'm being sent to Monroe, NC for some training in August. I have the option of staying a couple of extra days to do some diving if I want. How far is any diving from Monroe? Is it worth staying a couple of days extra? Thanks, Brian

Ed Robinson has two rental cottages. Some friends of ours stayed there last year when we went and it was really cool. I don't remember prices, but I remember thinking it was very reasonable.

I had a great time on that dive. It was money well spent in my opinion. As if swimming with a tiger, Galapagos, and several other species of sharks weren't enough, feeding Miss Piggy is was an awesome experience.

Bob- Jeanna uses the Scubamax 3mm gloves and loves 'em. She just got a new pair after probably close to 250 dives on the old pair. I used a pair of them before going to dry gloves and liked them as well...very small water exchange and they lasted forever. My hands are the only part of me...

I prefer Deep Sea personally, for the San Juans. Bandito doesn't head up there and Island Dive and Lu Jac's are good ops as well, but I really like Deep Sea. Large boat, plenty of room, and compressor on board.
