Poor air delivery or Weak Diaphragm?

In Europe/EU its a different thing. The sets are certified as a specific combo. Using a different 1st or 2nd stage combo as used during the certification proces can lead to insurance problems. The complete set will get a "type rating" and officially this is even included the hoses.

    Perdix 2, Petrel 3

I know the Perdix one is taking the generic transmitters as its own. But last year or the year before rumors were going around the Shearwaters would be only accepting their own sensors in the "near" future as in some kind of serial number range available. The SWIFT's look nice but at the moment...

    Perdix 2, Petrel 3

Does de Perdix #2 still accepts the Aqualung or old type of transmitter? For me the haptic alarms would be nice but not worth the upgrade at the moment.

    YouTube Content Recommendations?

The one's I've seen are neutrally buoyant. PADI only requires a neutral buoyant skill set since last year or 2020.

    YouTube Content Recommendations?

Seen it in 1 reply, search for Marcel van den Berg. He's producing quality clips in regards of the skills needed for your DM. ITs not like training in the water yourself but gives a lot of information and points to consider. Good luck recovering.

    Tank recommendations

That will be a problem as in Europe a 300B 4500psi Din Fill whip is not fitting in a 200b 300psi valve, and a 300b fill whip should not fit a Din/Yoke adapter. exchanging a 3000psi Yoke valve to 4500PSI Din on a 3000psi Cylinder is not the best idea and not allowed recommended as you are able to...

Do you own an emergency oxygen unit?

No official one but I´ve cobbled something together with spares form the ship I´m working on. (A constant floww bullnose reducer), a brass adapter and an O2 filled 40CUFT cylinder. For on demand us I can use the standard O2 clean stage kit.

Poseidon Cyklon 5000 - is there any M26 available

Just change the valve in your cilinder to a normal din valve and never look back. Its something the European Union paperwork providers invented to get some extra safety margin in an area without a lot of problems. You should not have any problems in finding an O2 clean Din valve or a place to...

    Valve on Firefighting Equipment

And whats the big advantage in the pressure indicator in the cylinder valve? The only thing I can think of is the quick indication when the cylinders are stored? Or is this a secondary means for the partner to have a quick check of his colleagues pressure. It makes the valve unit a lot more...

    Upgrading Bauer Junior 2: motor?

Are you sure about that, a motor speed is related to the amount of poles and the frequency of the net. It will keep the nominated rpm's till it gets overloaded and at that moment it starts creating a lot of heat and current and the fuse/overcurrent protection will cut out. It is possible a...

Is this DUI TLS350 too big for me?

potentially a bit late to the post. If you are looking into replacing the sock by boots, its no problem to shorten the leg. (at least at a proper dry suit repair company). I've did the same with my TLS350 3y ago and am still happy diving it. I've still got glued on latex wrist seals and I can...

    Qualifications of a DM

Maybe a bit depending on the situation I think. I'm diving in a dive club and the attached dive school is a foundation and all the board members, instructors and DM's are doing it at a purely voluntary basis as a hobby with the intention to "deliver" proper divers and if it takes 1 or 2 pool or...

    Qualifications of a DM

This is exactly the way I'm being trained at the moment. To be the assistant, background safety operator and secondary the guide for the tours during the classes. This can be related to may day job. Working nearly 20y at chemical tankers gives you a few set of extra eyes and safety awareness...

    Info O-rings for Divers

To be honest, you're picking the wrong solvents as the bad ones, Toluene and Xylene are both more toxic than IPA and MEK. If Xylene remembers you of Turp, thats very likely as it is one of the main components in old fashioned lacquer thinners (the grade above white spirit) Toluene is considered...

Should I get slightly lower quality octo than my primary?

Nothing, its only half of European recreational divers are diving suunto computers without a problem. (Prices in The Netherlands are around E180 for a new Zoop Novo, 300 for the vyper excl transmitter, and 470 for the Shearwater) For the standard rec diver they are a more than sufficient option...

Should I get slightly lower quality octo than my primary?

Looking into it with European eyes, all available octo's in europe (via the official channels) are tested for their CE marking. (not China Export) All 2nd stages will supply the air needed at any recreation depth and most likely way deeper. Cold water can be a limiting factor but most 2nd...

Brand new compressor triggering "overload release motor protection switch"

In my opinion, Get the Elec, back in the shop and have him check if the electromotor is set-up for the correct phase voltage. (star/Tri-angle) and if all is correct, reset the overload relay to the correct value. Run the compressor, and start with measuring actual amperages per phase and if...

    First aid kits

In my opinion its the same continent :-) If speaking English, I will use Europe and when speaking Dutch (The language of The Netherlands) it will be Europa. I've bought a First-aid backpack and added some extra items, more specific some pain killers and water. Antibiotic and cortisol creme's, or...

    Diving fatality in Belgium

No its not, its clear (according the wording of Zef) he did not switch to back-mount. If he felt unwell, suffered a stroke or heart failure is unknown at the moment. Zef was describing an ascent found on his computer but no technical log. It has to be determined what happened during the dive...

    Nanight lights?

Shipping costs seems a bit excessive to the US. Can be part of the fact all packages are packages at the moment and no real flat-ware is existing anymore (due to new custom regulations since last year) I have no idea what they are charging from Sweden towards The Netherlands, but a package...
