    Oceanic OC1 - Poor Support?

Buy the titanium strap for the OC1 (full disclosure: I own one). I've seen them on sale on ebay for $ 99. At that price is a steal and will last forever.

    Suunto D6i screen blemish

Not good. Suspect the LCD display might have got water or water vapor during the battery change. Who changed the battery? Did they waterproof it?

Atom 2 computer and transmitter o-ring oring size

Concur with Tbar. 70 is the recommended hardness for dive computer O-rings. On a different note, but also pertaining to this thread: We always change the O-ring when we service a dive computer. It´s also what all manufacturers recommend.

Atom 2 computer and transmitter o-ring oring size

You can get it from a dive computer Oring provider that sells on ebay. Look him up under the name "Battastic". I usually get the odd size O rings from him.

    oceanic OC1 flooded... need advice

I don't want to get into the discussion if the service center acted correctly or not or advise you about how to proceed. From a technical perspective, most likely the service center replaced the entire electronic module of your OC1. We have opened several flooded computers and, unless the...

    Suunto D4 warning and questions

Darthtony: I appreciate jseyfert3 comment, but your recent diving profiles are not dives with short surface intervals, repetitive dives deeper than earlier ones, multiple ascents, and substantial multiday diving. Any penalization for unsafe diving I've seen, extends up to 48 hours after the...

    Suunto D4 warning and questions

No. It should be totally desaturated by now. Is it a new computer and still under warranty? If it´s not under warranty, try pushing all four buttons simultaneously. This should reset your computer without opening it.

Suunto D9 stuck in dive mode???

Probably you have solved your D9 problem by now. In case not, most likely your pressure sensor is dead. Has to go back to Suunto and they are going to charge a significant amount to install a new one. We could open it for you, remove the battery, close it back and see what happens. But I´m very...

    Suunto D9 Self Battery Change

Fognet: Whoever gave you that info concerning the Oring for the D4, D6, D9, DX, etc., being the same, doesn't have the faintest idea of what he is saying. Each of those Suunto computers uses a different Oring size (all metric, by the way). Furthermore, the DX O ring is not even an Oring in the...

    Solar power wrist computer Citizen

Autolycus: Yes, we do carry a full hydrostatic pressure check "in water" to 165 feet (50 meters) to every dive computer or dive watch to which we replace the battery (in dive computers and dive watches with log capability, the test dive stays recorded as the last dive). We also change the O ring...

    Solar power wrist computer Citizen

To me, the safest powering method for dive computers is still the old lithium 3V batteries. If you are careful to choose a computer that uses say a CR2450 or even a CR2430, the largest capacities batteries used in dive computers, it should last anywhere between 1 1/2 to 2 years before you have...

    First battery replacement question

Tbar: I agree with your last statement that I am reproducing below. Finally, we found common ground. quote: .... What you say is possibly best practice but for me and many other not required. If I were in a commercial situation I would probably do as you are, it would minimise my commercial...

    First battery replacement question

Yes Tbar, you should replace the Oring every time you open the computer to change the battery. The Oring has been probably two years under significant compression, overheating after leaving the computer under the sun for hours and, most of the times, they even have salt encrustations due to...
