    DPV with a Jacket BCD?

I think you won't need to use crotch straps for DPVs from Apollo or Tusa. With these DPVs, you put it between your legs and get propelled like a torpedo, instead of being pulled like the usual DPVs. Since I haven't dove one, I can't say whether they're better or worse compared to regular...

    Which way to the Maldives???

Hi highdesert, out of personal preference, I'd take LAX->SIN->MLE on SQ. I like the airlines services, and Changi Airport (Singapore) is well designed with lots of shops and restaurants to pass the time. Other options may be LAX->NRT->MLE, using UL (Air Lanka) on the second leg.

    Right now on NHK

Thanks. But duty calls, or should I call this an occupational "hazard", I don't get Saturdays off, with the exception of national holidays :shakehead: I'll have to wait for the next opportunity, but I am waiting eagerly:D Kaza

strange reflection from camera in picture

I think the op's asking about the faint whitish ring surrounding the fish. (if your  points to where the reflection is. sorry if I'm wrong) I can't be sure, but to me, it looks like the rim of the lens reflecting off the inner surface of the front glass.

    Destinations with Bubble Maker programme

Thanks Bubble Junky, I am aware that there's direct flights from NRT, while my favorite route is taking MI (Silk Air) from Singapore. As for the possibility of political uprising in Phuket, Phuket Airport was actually blockaded in August 2008, and some people we know were unable to return...

    Right now on NHK

Another programme, and it's air time's longer!:shocked2: Can't wait :D I was mildly surprised to find out that NHK actually got to train with JUE, considering the rarity of tec divers in this country (at least from my perspective). Maybe someone on their team started diving with you and got...

    Diving fatality in Guam

Iruka, I salute your courage. If anything worked out properly in this incident, it is you returning intact and recovering the deceased in your first attempt. I really hope you won't have to do this ever again, and you aren't left with any psychological trauma. Kaza

    Japan Scubapro

Actually, five colours are available. The regular models are black and "beluga white", with limited edition silver, "mango yellow" and "coral red" As far as I know, the "limited" editions are produced every year in limited numbers, and shouldn't be too difficult to find. If interested, you...

    Destinations with Bubble Maker programme

Hi guys, thanks for your suggestions. Yes, my wife is a diver, and as both of you have suggested, Phuket seems a good candidate. We've been there a couple of times, and like the atmosphere as well. The only thing my wife is concerned is the possible airport blockade by political protesters. (...
