Most Pointless and Ridiculous Thread Ever on ScubaBoard!

I tried reading this thread from the beginning, and came here in 10 seconds. The "go to last page" link did the magic. I did the mis-clicking tho

    Triple-L Juvi BC Buoyancy, Weights?

Hi Marek Good thing your daughter's a diver. I'm hoping mine will become a diver as well. Why don't you fill the whole BC up with water, through the oral inflator or dump valve, and calculate the weight difference? Difference in weight (kg) = displacement of your daughter's BC (L) = lift (kg)...

    Destinations with Bubble Maker programme

Hi I'm planning on a week long summer vacation -diving trip in late July (25th-31st). Usually, I pick some location, my wife looks at accommodation options, and if she likes the hotels/villas, its a go. This year, I need to find a destination where our 8year old can have her Bubble Maker...

YS110 strobe diffuser or no diffuser?

Oops. Thanks for letting me know. Shows how dependent I've been on the strobe, and never had to change modes.

Hollis F1 Fin - Color Anyone??

I was thinking a black fin with reflective tape might be cool. But seeing your post, I'll stick to black ones to avoid the humiliation of being called a "yellow shiny V":D

YS110 strobe diffuser or no diffuser?

I thought the dial on the right side turned down the output. Have you checked to see where your mode dial is pointing? If its properly set in TTL (not accidentally moved to manual 1 or 2), you may also need to check the optical fibre link for damages. Hope this helps Kaza

    Diving while pregnant??

:troll: am i smelling zombies or easter eggs? Maybe she had found out that she was pregnant, and was trying to find anything to bring peace to her soul? I'm only speculating, but resurrecting so many dive-pregnancy related threads, this is the only rationale I can find. Kaza

What do YOU consider a good dive?

Any thing except a bad dive. My current definition of a bad dive being "too sea sick to enjoy the dive" :vomit:

Hollis F1 Fin - Color Anyone??

+1 I'm waiting for one in Batman Black, but it becomes available in colours like the hi-viz lines I use, I'll definitely want a pair. Also, my wife's interested in the new fins I'm waiting for. She isn't all that fond of the split fins she's using, and will probably want her pair of F1s. Kaza

    computer redundancy

Good point. Actually, I prefer cars with cabs and alternators. I went as far as to own a Caterham Super7 (hence my handle name; left my garage for practical reasons after a short while). Presently, I have two cars at my disposal, and the one I drive daily is a JDM Subaru Impreza (WRX-RA STi...

    Diving with Twins

Wow. Everyone's talking about whether training is necessary or not. It seems MILGENTOSH wants to know what he might need as well. 1) two sets of regs and a set of hoses to go with them. 2) a BC that can accommodate double tanks. I'll bet most will recommend a BP/W set up. There are soft...

    computer redundancy

Well, for first stage regs, I think their simple mechanical construction mitigates the possibility of simultaneous breakdowns, at least compared to computers. (By breakdown I mean out of service and unrepairable on site) Computers are complex systems with multiple components. They also need...

Rec BP/W - New Setup, Comparisons and Advice

I've got a DR Transplate (alu) with Rec wing. The wing has 51lbs lift, but I needed the lift because I was getting trained to dive doubles. As long as you're diving single alu tanks, a Travel wing with 27lbs lift should be sufficient. Compared to a simple hog harness, the Transplate harness is...
