I was on a tec trip on the Spree at the flower gardens last September. Humberto formed overhead. I think it holds the record for the quickest hurricane to form in the Gulf. By the time we got to Freeport it seemed like we were surfing. Actually it hit Tropical storm status about the time we...
I have this regulator for my deco tank. It works like a champ and have never had any problems with it. In fact, if I start using more than one deco tank, I'll purchase another one.
I can relate. I have a VR3, which is a fairly complicated computer. On my first dive with it to 150 ft for 20 minutes, I did my deep stop about 8 feet above where I was supposed to be. The computer was not happy for the rest of the day and I had to rely on vplanner .
I did spend the...
Ahhh. If I had all the time and the money in the world I would love to dive the oceans of Europa.
Not a rebreather diver yet, but should purchase a CCR within 6 months. Most likely a meg or sentinel.
All good points. Guess we should keep threads available to newbies. I've just seen a thread or two about an equipment brand opinion from 2004 that was revived with some rather useless subjective comment from a first time poster four years later.
On the other hand, you all make the good...
Just a suggestion, but would it be possible to prevent someone from reviving a 6 month or older thread until they have a certain number of posts under their belt. I've seen too many brand new posters search for an old topic and comment on it even though the last post was months to years ago...
So that wired high pressure link that screws into the hp port on your first stage and attaches to the VR3 and provides a tank pressure readout is not air integration? Check out the delta p website or diverite express.
1. I use a VR3
2. It is not air integrated, but I think it can be if you want to buy the parts.
3. I would recommend it for technical minded divers, but it is more computer than necessary for most recreational dives using a single gas mix. Otherwise, it does damn near everything.
4. If I...
If you want to do 200 feet for 30 minutes you will need quite a bit of training. I would also suggest a dive computer such as a VR3 and a decompression software program such as vplanner.
If you made the dive that you suggested, you WILL run out of gas and you WILL be lucky to end up in a...
I would agree that a bp/w is a little harder to take off. For me, the tight hog harness interferes with me getting out of the thing while wearing a compass and a VR3 dive computer. However, I continue to use the hog harness because in the end, it offers the best fit for me while diving. So...
I personally don't think that diving with doubles is too much task loading for a new diver, providing you are not slinging deco or stage tanks on your side...which you shouldn't be doing right now.
However, new divers often run low on air before they approach their no decompression limit...
Does anyone know if the use of vasodialators such as viagra or cialis could reduce microbubble formation?
Please - no peanut gallery comments or jokes about certain diving "activities".
I would avoid Home depot for clips if you plan on salt water diving as you will just end up replacing the rusting things. Try an online dive store for good prices.
No fear of depth - even over a wall. Although I marked fear of hights, it is more of a fear of the pain of landing rather than the heights themselves or falling.
Screw the male end of your din attachment into the female end of the yolk adaptor. Use the regulator as you would if it were a standard yolk regulator.
Just something I would like to point out about o ring kits - I got one as a stocking stuffer for christmas and found out on a recent dive that it contained no O rings for DIN regulators.
You can even get weight integration on backplate and wing setups.
And no, back inflates are not difficult to get used to. My only regret after trying my first back inflate was that I ever used a jacket in the first place.
One thing to remember when you go on your night dive is not to shine the light in anybodys face. I would also suggest a light with a narrow penetrating beam that can be used for signalling - all I take are two UK SL6 lights when I go. Cheap and they work like a charm.
My buddy had a halcyon...
