There is a lot of good info here on the advantages of a bp/w. In fact thats all I dive.
On the other hand, I have found a few disadvantages...
Infinite ways to adjust your bp/w means that you will sometimes end up screwing with the adjustments more than you would otherwise. This may not...
I ended up with an oxycheq 30 lb wing and hammerhead stainless backplate with harness for around 350, give or take 20. I am glad to see that you are thinking back inflate.
The Besea and the ranger are both good ideas, but in my opinion, the bp/w setup is far more adaptable to a growing and...
I've been trying to find info on this light.

Right now I carry my SL6 on my single piece harness and it just seems too big. This light seems interesting. Claims to be as bright as a 10w HID with an insane...
Hey all you drysuit divers...
I've got to admit that the most insulation I've ever used was a 5 mil farmer john at 110' in a Texas lake in November.
On the other hand, I've been thinking of getting a drysuit for winter diving in the Gulf of Mexico and possibly for diving in the California...
I didn't actually use any cement when I reattached, just three zip ties. Honestly, I wasnt sure how the cyclohexane solvent in rubber cement would react against the particular rubber used in the corrigated (sp?) hose.
Since then I have filled my wing up till air was coming out the exhaust...
I've gone diving without fastening the crotch strap. Didn't feel as in control of my equipment as when I am wearing the thing. You will hardly notice if you are wearing a wetsuit. Might be an issue if you were going commando.
I think the stuff is rubber cement. Regarding the low pressure inflator attachment, I just used three zip ties for my oxycheq wing when I had to remove the inflator and later reattach.
No problems so far.
Not sure what this rant has to do with my original H valve adapter question. When I dive, I don't rely or count on my dive buddy or his equipment. That not to say that it can't be an advantage to have a buddy with you, but it can also be a liability.
Yes, a pony offers an extra first and...
I've been looking around and guess nobody makes one. Basically I wanted something for travel that would give me the redundancy of having two first stages like one would have in a doubles or H valve configuration without having to bring my own tank.
I have my 40 cubic foot deco bottle, but...
I'm certainly not suggesting running hp hoses to connect up anything like this. Not sure why it would be unsafe (except if it were rigged to a yolk valve and you hit something overhead).
I was hoping for something with the ability to shut down either first stage, essentially like an H-valve, but as an adapter for a single valve tank.
If I am down in cozumel I don't want to ask the dive shop to unscrew one of their valves so that I can put on an H valve, I would rather just...
Just realized that I put this in the new diver's category instead of the general scuba discussions category, but hopefully somebody will have an answer. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Does anyone know if there is an adapter that would allow two first stages to be attached to a single K valve or a Din valve?
I know that H valves exist, but if I wanted the advantage of diving with two first stages and all that was available at the foreign dive shop was your standard K...
