My wife recently asked me to write up a scuba post for the gear we take on vacation, and after much consideration I decided to ask for input from the experts. Her blog is a hobby and not profit generating so hopefully posting isn't against forum rules. Any feedback or criticism is appreciated. I...
I haven't gotten to dive more as often as I'd expected (long drive to the coast) but I have been very happy with it the times I've been able to dive it, and DRIS treated me great.

Yonaguni looks really promising! Thats the kind of cool location we were looking for.
Raja Ampat has been high on my listfor a long time, but the flight time, and price, are really high. Army doesn't pay me that well...
Wife and I are looking at taking another dive trip in January. We've already been to Thailand and the Philippines and want to try somewhere new. Seemed like most of Indonesia is closed that part of the year. We are living in Korea so we are looking at southeast Asia. Thought about Guam or Palau...
I have an Ikelite ds225 and need the adapter to charge it. I believe the Ikelite 4063.51 adapter is what I need. Just tryinf to test if my strobe even works, but won't know until i can charge it and test it.
Don't use silicone on the o-ring. It can be installed dry. Silicon is not O2 compatible and creates a risk if you use your regulator with nitrox in the futute.
I have to disagree with tbone. USIA does make a onsie undergarment that is a bit better than typical two piece solutions. Their sizing chart on their website is pretty true to size. Self measure yourself and pick a size.
Just order the kit and service it yourself. The manuals are available free online and the actual servicing is pretty simple. Its not intimidating afyer the first time. And its not hard if you take your time and follow the manual.
A few weeks on eBay will really whittle down your costs. Lots of good deals out there. Order your webbing and hardware and lace it yourself. I like DGE hardware and webbing. You will sooner or later end up with both an Al and SS plate. I'd say start of with the Al. You can add a v-weight to an...
Another vote for the 5/10 waterproof. I found it a bit warm in the high 50s and may look for a 7mm hood for water over 50F.
But I'm very warm blooded and rarely cold.
Lp104s in my drysuit. Perfect in fresh water with Aluminum plate. Perfect in salt water with Steel plate. Nice and long so easy to trim (I'm 6'5") and unbelievable amounts of air when I get a cave fill.
good history, wish it would have covered more on the actual state of the wreck, and the diving involved. Hopefully they make another video once they learn more about the wreck site and what it holds...
Get into tech diving and you're going to end up working on, or adjusting all your gear anyways. Go with the company that encourages you to learn to work on your own gear. Get the HOG regs
I recently got an ikelite housing for cheap for a camera I got for free. I would like to get the 8"dome and I'm looking to save cash where i can so i can afford strobes in the future.
Anyone have one they are looking to sell or know of any gooddeals? Willing to buy either the dome or the...
I have a HOLLIS LED 3 that recently stopped turning off. It still works fine otherwise but it doesnt turn off when i screw the cap all the way in. I can turn it off by screwing the tailcap off but then the o-ring is disengaged. Anything I can do to check this or fix this. Currently my favorite...
