    I happy it worked out.

Is Whites Treating Me Right... Or Not???

Yeah, keep us posted. Being an instructor, I for one won't recommend them if you are not satisfied. I'm starting to get a little nervous because I bought a new White's Catalyst and only have 2 dive outings on it. My newer Viking had over 1200 before it started leaking.

    Bay Island Beach Resort, Roatan

BIBR is where I got married. We did an underwater wedding and then a more official wedding the next evening. They hosted a fantastic Honduran Traditional wedding for us with the mayor performing the ceramony. Then for the dinner, the divemasters went out and cought enough lobster for...

Is Whites Treating Me Right... Or Not???

IMO, you don't pay a thing. Call White's, explain the situation as you have here and if you don't get the resolution you expect (repair at no charge), ask for their next in charge, if you don't get the answer, go up again and keep going up until you reach the president. If that doesn't work...

    Drysuit...what to buy? Whites?

I just bought a Whites Catalyst, and have dove it 3 times so far. I have a couple of issues with not having built in boots. The main being, when you put the boots on, the material bunches if it doesn't fit like a sock. This causes some real pain under water. It's a good suit other than that...

Hotel Cozumel Resort and Dive Paradise

One more thing I'd like to add. You'll notice that most food and beverages are served with a lime. Several locals have told me to eat them, they attack the bacteria that cause "Montazuma's Revenge" and some types of food poisoning. I don't know if it's true, but I've never gotten sick there.

Hotel Cozumel Resort and Dive Paradise

I'm leaving in about a week for my 4 trip to Cozumel and I've never seen anybody in any of the people I've been with get sick. The worst I've seen was 3 stiyches to the back of the head due to an improper entry. The charter owner took her to the emergency care center, decided it was too...

    Regulator Technician Class

The equipment specialty class doesn't teach you how to completely service your own equipment. It teaches you how to care for it, keep it clean and make some minor adjustments. You'll also learn a bit about equipment history and some things to look for when purchasing and the differences in...

    Regulator kits

I completed Zeagle's training seminar at DEMA 2003. Since then I've have serviced about 30 Zeagle Regs and a few BCs with little or no problems. There are a couple of things I'd consider changing: 1). When I went through a competitor's seminar several years ago we were required to pass a...

    Regulator Technician Class

What I would suggest, if you want to work on regulators, is to talk to your LDS about helping on the service bench. A lot of them would love the extra help to get caught up or stay ahead. In this manner, you can get your training with them as a sponsor and then be able to work on your own...

School Project About Buoyancy and Gases

Mike, See my post on your other request. And again, you should not expect to learn anything by having other do your homework for you. BTW, there are a lot of informative sites on the internet, just do a search for pressure, volume, density relationships. Good Luck and happy learning.

School Project About Buoyancy and Gases

Your best option would be to get you hands on an open water student manual. There you will find everything you need to put together a proper and informative presentation. You should do this yourself and not ask us to do your homework. Good Luck!!

    Failed to get Scuba cert. ? ? ? ?

I certainly don't mean to speak for other instructors but here's how I work. I will not give up on a student that is determined to get certified. I do not charge extra (except pool rental) because it may take a little more of my time. If you need (want) to come into another clas so be it...

    suunto mosquito battery replacement question

Make sure you open it in a clean enviorment, hair is the worst thing for an o-ring. When reassembling, lubricate the ring with silicone grease (NOT SPRAY) just enough to make the o-ring shiny. Don't overtighten it either. Avoid touching the battery contacts on the battery and the computer...

    Regulator kits

With most of the training I went through we received a certificate of successful completion. Ask your LDS to see them and specify who you want to service your stuff. I service a lot of regs and I'd be lying if I said there had never been any problems. If the "final tune" is done immediately...

    Roatan Question...Yet Again

All of the resorts have a pool, it's an umpteen gazillion gallon salt water pool, but it's a pool. ;) :1poke:

That's really too bad. I dove with them on a couple of occasions and they were great.

    Regulator kits

I do most of the equipment service for the LDS I instruct for. I've gone through Zeagle's training along with a half a dozen other brands and my belief is that some people are capable of servicing their regulators. They are not that difficult. I think, in talking to some, that the biggest...

    Caution about Cozumel

The level of certification does not necessasarily prove experience. There are a lot of Instructors and Divemasters that I won't dive with due to how they got their certs. Carry your log book to show proof of experience not a C-card. I'm leaving in 2 weeks for my 4th trip to Coz. I've dove...
