16kg lift enough for cold water dive?

That was an example, My point being....if you are perfectly neutral at the surface, it only takes an extra pound or two of lift to keep you afloat while breathing normaly. It's common sense that you want more than just your eyes out of the water, so yes, more lift is needed. Under pressure...

16kg lift enough for cold water dive?

Why? Proper weighting is a must. Realistically, you should not need to add air to your BC at the surface to remain there. You add the air to make you positive at the surface so you can rest and not over exert yourself, or to make up for compressed air spaces as you descend. Yes you need a...

16kg lift enough for cold water dive?

Are you planning on overweighting yourself by 16KG? If you are neutrally buoyant there should be "zero lift" required. As to air space compression of the wet suit, etc. Again, get neutral at the surface, then you will only be adding small amounts of air to the BC as you descend to maintain...

    Asthma Question

Was this a drift dive or were you returning to the boat? If it was a drift, your guide should have brought you to the surface or sent you up with a buddy. If returning to the entry point, surface swims are much hard than swimming underwater so he did the right thing. IMHO.

    Favorite Ohio dive spots

I haven't been to Gilboa since Dan owned it. Are the paddlefish still there? I only got to see them a couple of times as they were always very timid and avoided the bubbles. The trout were pretty awesome in size then too. Dan got upset with me one day because I stopped at a fish market...
