Is scuba a good back injury rehab excercise?

Considering what all of the above posters have said about the actuall weight of the equipment, gear assembly and getting into and out of the water it might not seem to be a good idea, but only you can feel what works for you. But, there is a factor that may help you alot. Since the back and...

    Drysuit Cert vs. AOW

Taking the advanced class opens up alot of divesites, but a drysuit is way more comfortable than a wetsuit, especially in the temperetures you mention. Since you'r only sixteen it would be a waste of money to buy a brand-new drysuit for a thousand dollars, the advice I can give you is to buy...

    Where did you dive today?

Went to Tussan, Arild. In the environment protection zone of Kullaberg. Back to the roots so to speak, this is the place where I did my OW checkout dives. Been there afterwards but it's always a speciall feeling. Had a great dive, witch I videotaped. Deepest dive there so far, 15.5meters...

    Gearing up!

A bc system i'd recomend (since i own one myself) is the Zeagle Ranger. It's comfy, has backinflation (wing) and is fully convertable to a classic wing and harness type of setup. And ofcourse a great plus is that it will take on double steel 18liter tanks as it is wihout any major changes...

    Where did you dive today?

Did two dives at 'Grotviks Harbour', both 60 minutes long and close to 8 meters depth. Checked my home-build videocamera-housing on the first dive and filmed on the second. But the camera batteries were out cold so it shut down when we walked towards the water... But, a great day of diving.

    Any Swedish divers here?

Aye! One of Sweden's finest right here! Hah, just kidding! Not the finest but certainly Swedish :) Ah the water is really warm right now, today we had a bottom temp at 12 degrees celcius on the west coast. As far as I know there's still 6 degrees on the east coast? Best regards, Pitchblack.

    Pre Dive Procedures

I do; Ofcourse we lay out a diveplan with depths, routes, times, turningpressures and exit/abort-procedures. BWRAF, for equipment checking and making sure everything is with us. On surface, making sure that computer is showing correct depth and checking if dryglove system leaks. During...

    Standardized hand signals for numbers?

We signal like this; ''time out'' signal = half of the airsupply left and with one hand signaling either closed or open fist with all five fingers out = 50 bar and single fingers meaning 10 bars each. So for me if asked about airsupply and having 170 bars left i'd signal 'time out' for...

New diver - seeking cold water dives opinions

Great statement! I'm from Sweden, here it's 'cold water diving' all the time. I've done tropical diving as well, but I can easily say that all my dives here at home has been far better than those i've done tropical.

    Why is PADI so conservative?

Buleetu. All, and I say all organisations is conservative in their teachings and fundamentals wether it's PADI, NAUI, SSI CMAS or GUE. Some more, some less. Just becouse a diver is trained by lets say CMAS, it doesnt mean that he is extremely conservative and dives with a buddy-line all...

    Who is responsible for what?

Thank you, thank you and thank you for a great post. Onto answering the question of who is responsible? Me and myself are responsible for everything I do. I trust my buddy very very much but that doesnt mean I can push over the responsibily over to him when it comes to planning a dive. and...
